Nasi Padang River Valley is a local hawker restaurant ran by Mr Hariz Pua and Mr Zulfa Hamad. The restaurant has been opened for 57 years originating from the times when Mr Hamad's mother started street peddling nasi padang. Besides having nasi padang as its signature dish, the restaurant also offers a variety of other foodstuff such as beef rendang and chicken curry. The restaurant is scheduled to close at the end of March 2014 due to lack of manpower and high food costs.

Great nasi padang
This place is now officially closed but I thought I'll still write a review to let everyone know how awesome this place used to be!! I stay really near River Valley and as a child, I used to follow my father here for his weekly nasi padang fix. This stall is his absolute favorite and it gradually became mine as I grew up. The thing that I like best here is all the friendly aunties who are serving the food. Serving is huge, food is always hot and of the "right taste" every single time I visit. It has a high level of consistency which I guess is the reason why people keep coming back for it.
I loved their coconut chicken, potato patties, fish, vegetables.. I will never get sick of it (but unfortunately I cannot have it anymore).I love the coconut chicken gravy and I always ask for more! I vary my choices sometimes but the potato patties are a must-have every single time I visit. Fluffy and salty potato goodness. Yums! You can taste the freshness in the ingredients they use to cook. Servings are huge and I can never ever finish one whole plate by myself. 3/4 a plate is enough for a hearty and filling meal. It is unfortunate that they had to close down but at least I have good and fond memories of this place :)
