Yummy food + took note of hygiene purposes as well!
Fans of Char Kway Teow, you do not want to miss this. For S$3, you get a generous portion of kway teow, fresh cockles, yummy eggs, handful of beansprouts and mouth-watering lap Cheong aka Chinese sweet sausage. Overall, the dish was moist and not overly greasy. Personally, I like having them with orange fruit juice.
Lai Heng Fried Kway Teow has the longest queue at Sembawang Hill Food Centre. But that doesn't mean that you have to wait for a long time though. What I like is that he took note of his hygiene. He was wearing a head band, seriously, this is the first time I've seen cooks wearing them. By doing this, our Char Kway Teow is free from "added ingredients".
Best of all, Sembawang Hill Food Centre is not crowded at all, that is- during late afternoons and evenings. Most of the stalls are closed by then, except a few. The drinks stall, the popiah stall etc... So if you want to drop by, make sure you take note of the timing. The food centre has limited parking lots which kind of ruins it...
