Their Ngoh Hiangs are what captured my heart.
Since young, one of the places that my family often visits for Sunday breakfast would be this restaurant located near Paya Lebar. Not only does it offer prawn noodles, it also offers Ngoh Hiang that they fry on the spot after you order!
Frankly, I’ve always preferred eating their Ngoh Hiang to the noodles, but I can definitely see why my father loves to come here for his prawn noodle fix. Their soup has a strong rich taste of prawn essence, the type of broth that you know had prawns simmering in pots for hours. The best part is, you can refill your soup for free! Woohoo, who doesn’t like ‘em some free soup?? Their noodles are so-so, not bad but not great. They also offer pork rib noodles, though I find their pork ribs rather small.
Unfortunately, their standard seems to have dipped slightly over the years, with my past few visits leaving me slightly disappointed. It’s still one of the better prawn noodles around though, so do give it a try if you happen to be nearby!
