Great variety of jeans
I love jeans and I'm in jeans 3 or 4 days out of the week. They are so easy to wear, easy to match, looks good and really, I cannot think of any reason to not wear jeans hahaha, I love skinny jeans in dark wash, light wash, regular wash and I also love the ripped ones. It's not easy to find nice ripped jeans though.. half the time people will be asking if you're too poor to afford "proper" jeans LOL. I love the ambience and fitting room here. The staff are also really helpful when you are deciding on the sizes (sometimes both sizes fit...) but anyway, always go for the smaller size because denim will definitely stretch over time!
The Denim Store carries denim brands that cannot be found easily in Singapore. My favorite denim brand, Ksubi, can be found here. They have 2 full racks of Ksubi jeans and have the full range of sizes!! Prices may be on the high side as compared to high street brands like Topshop or Zara but even in the shop itself they carry affordable denim brands like Cheap Monday. The expensive ones are nowhere close to the price of a pair of True Religion jeans as well so I would say the most expensive ones will hover around $300-ish. Once or twice a year they have sales and you can get your jeans at up to 50-60% off!! So if you're patient enough, do wait for the sale. They carry jeans in skinny cut, regular cut, bootleg cut in low/ middle/ high rise and of course, in a huge range of textures, colors and wash!! If you're into serious jeans shopping then this is the place you wouldn't want to miss.
It's All In The Jeans
Quentin Crisp once said that "The young always have the same problem - how to rebel and conform at the same time. They have now solved this by defying their parents and copying one another." The Denim Store effortlessly caters to this sentiment by providing almost every teenaged boy in SG with their daily uniform of skinny Nudie (they always pick the raw denim, because that's the cheapest) or Cheap Monday jeans and tees from the likes of Blood Is The New Black and April 77. The Denim Store is like a sartorial cloning factory for the under-20 set!
T-shirt and jeans is my daily uniform. It is also the 2nd most popular casual outfit (the 1st being singlet and shorts) for my fellow Singaporeans. Such simple rules of supply and demand keep the cashtill at The Denim Store ringing and their customers queuing.
I like that the prices are competitive. The merchandise stocked at The Denim Store is mostly available online from other websites, so it is inevitable that their internet-savvy young clientele will compare prices. The prices here are wisely calibrated with this in mind, so you don't have to suffer the extortionist mark-up that is part of the SG shopping experience (ahem, On Pedder and Club 21).
The Denim store must be a heaven for all the scene kids or denim enthusiasts in Singapore. Located at town (Mandarin Gallery), you can find all your indie labels and designer jeans in one convenient location. From street fashion Cheap Monday to recent ahbeng trend Nudie, you can find something here to fit your denim craving.
I have bought a couple of jeans here in the past - just love the variety, All the brands here are reputable, and if you really want to find something to your liking or 'va-va-voom' unique, chances are you can find the pair right here. However, prices are rather expensive, so don't be surprised if your bill chalks up to the high hundreds if you buy a number of them.
Take your pick.
I am enlightened
I am utterly impressed.
I have never been a connoisseur of jeans but the staff here completely changed my mind. I went with a friend who immediately started trying out all the jeans and pretty much left me alone to wander in the store, so it wasn't long before a staff came over to attend to me.
She directed me to their shorts section after doing a quick run-down of what I was wearing and begun to explain to me the types of demin there existed. She was friendly and eager to teach and I was soaking up the knowledge.
My guy friend came out in a bit and educated me further about demin and basically it was just them opening my world up to demin and I am now a changed woman. One day I will buy a pair of Nudie's and pass on that same knowledge to my poor, unknowing kids.
I never knew demin this intimately nor in these many forms till The Demin Store. This place is impressive for it's straight up brand display. Come on a weekday and enjoy your world opened.
Only if you're really into jeans and the like.
I went here once, since it's the only place (that I know of) which sells jeans from Cheap Monday, Nudie, Dr. Denim, and other labels which aren't that well-known of. My first pair of Cheap Monday jeans was brought online, and it didn't fit me as well as I'd like, so I was sort of wanting to get a new pair of jeans.. and I thought "why not have a look?" before entering.
It was quite crowded then, so I couldn't really browse through their stuff as freely as I want. But it was alright. Their staff has a really casual demeanor, but they were friendly when I approach one of them for help.
In the end, I didn't buy anything, mostly because of how many people there were in the store and I felt a bit overwhelmed. The prices are comparable to what what you'll pay on average online though, so I'd definitely get my next pair of jeans here.
Street wear at its finest
The Denim Store, formerly known as Queen’s Couture (The Heeren), is a haven for denim lovers. Being the sole distributor of Nudie jeans in Singapore, it comes as no surprise that the store gets a decent amount of business from retailing the ever-popular Nudie jeans. Other foreign denim brands that get a fair bit of attention here include April 77 and Cheap Monday. The display of rainbow-coloured denim is forever so alluring, and one’s attention would undoubtedly be captured by the plethora of denim choices here.
I have been a fan of Queen’s Couture for its offerings of street brands hailing from USA like Obey, Insight, Junk Food and Mighty Fine. These labels are usually found online, but thankfully with the intervention of Queen’s Couture Singaporeans get to see and touch these clothing in real life. My favourite label is Cheap Monday — other than just denim The Denim Store also retails a comprehensive range of Cheap Monday products like women’s tops, blouses and even sunglasses.
From the intimidating looks of the storefront, it may require a little bit of courage to enter the store, especially if your budget is tight. But have no fear as staff members are actually really personable!
The Denim Store is a must-go for die-hard denim fanatics or even street-savvy dressers. A huge range of premium quality jeans awaits you (for both male and female) from renowned labels e.g. April77, Dr Denim and Nudie. The jeans are extremely flattering and their quality will give you a run for your money.
Not all things are denim in the store though. Red Wing shoes line the racks of the store alongside cotton clothing with great cuts and/or artsy, whimsical and playful graphic design. Choose from tanks, t-shirts and dresses that would give you that extra street edge when donned. Swag swag swag swag~
Customer service definitely has lots of room for improvement. Entering the Denim Store, I felt egged on to hurry try on a piece of clothing, decide upon it immediately and promptly make payment. The retail assistants are not welcoming. While I loiter to and fro the shop, I became acutely aware of them staring at me, hawk-eyed like I was crashing their party to which its ticket is a timely purchase of their products. -Shudders-
That said, I’d still muster my courage and set foot into the store. Some international brands they stock there can only be found there in Singapore. Kids, if you don't have street cred, you could still look the part by shopping at The Denim Store.
For the true blue denim lover
Stepping into this store, you will either be utterly delighted, or woefully bored. That is because this shop only specializes in denim goods, as evidenced from the name of the store. The cool atmosphere reflects the items sold in store - edgy and funky.
For denim lovers, you will find a wide array of brands here, ranging from April 77 to Nudiez Jeans. It will be like your dream come true. They stock mostly denim jeans, though there are also a certain number of denim shorts and jackets. They also stock a small number of RedWing shoes.
However, for those who are not such a fan of denim, you might want to give this store a miss as ninety-five percent of the items are denim goods.
The brands are all reputable, and even though the jeans are of a slightly higher price range (from $100+ for the cheapest pair), it is definitely worth for money as the jeans are of superb denim quality.
On the downside, there is much to be improved about their service. The staff would sometimes seem unwilling to help you and give advice, especially if you have been there for quite a while yet can't decide on your purchase. But for true-blue denim lovers, this is definitely a must-go store!
