Fusion food with great wine pairing
What you will notice first about Praelum is the row of red and white wine bottles sitting behind a glass pane with a nozzle poking out. Upon closer inspection, the contraption works much like a vending machine. You select your wine, and the amount you'd like (taster, half glass, and full glass). For the casual diner, the extremely helpful owner can help you to make an informed decision based on your meal.
If you aren't a fan of wine, the food alone is worth the visit. Though listed as a French, Indo-China cuisine, the restaurant serves primarily Western food with an interesting fusion twist.
Some of the items I tried were:
Angus Beef Cubes with Caramelized Onions
Brie with Garlic Bread
Escargots in Garlic-Pesto sauce
The food for the most part, was very good. I liked the Brie with Garlic bread in particular. Just remember to ask for the owner when ordering to get the lowdown on what to order.
