Awful Experience at this Restaurant!

Warning: Bitter review ahead!

Before I go on, I've got to say that I'm rarely one to complain about service or really dislike a place. That being said, East 8 is definitely one of the most disappointing restaurants I've been to this year. I've read such rave reviews about it and seen cute pictures of the restaurant online, but must say looks a lot smaller and not as attractive in real life. Moreover, this place calls itself a bar, but it barely has one to begin with! The bar area is teensy and their drink list minimal.

The food is also extremely average and not worth going back for. Please avoid the proscuitto with mozzarella cheese and truffle mayo. The mayo was so liquidy and ended up turning everything in a soggy mess!

I could deal if all that was wrong was the food and drinks, but the service was absolutely atrocious. I'm in no way princessy or spoiled but I do expect more, especially coming from a small, new establishment. The waiters were overall, completely unhelpful and disinterested in serving us. My husband wanted oysters, and asked the waiters if they could halve the serving size for him but they refused! I don't see why it's so hard to place 3 oysters on a plate instead of 6.

For more service blunders, please read my blog!
