Great concept but still prefer normal sushi
Sushi Burrito at 100AM sells sushi in a burrito style. I love sushi so went I saw a feature of this place on The Sunday Times, I knew I had to go try it! The difference between a huge un-cut maki roll and the burrito is that the burrito comprises very little rice, unlike normal makis. They even have a no-rice option called the Skinny Sumo, how cute! You can also ask for less sauce if you want a further reduction in calories. This place is great if you're on a diet or #eatclean regime. Besides sushi burritos, they also serve sides like chawanmushi, karrage, sashimis and cheescake to go along with your main meal.
I ordered the Crabby Crunch burrito with comprises of soft shell crab, naruto maki and an assortment of vegetables. It took quite some time to arrive because it's being made on the spot. The whole concept of the burrito is cool, I held it in my hand and began to chow on it (lol!!!) sorry I couldn't think of a better word hahaha. The sauce in it makes it very appetizing! But because the rice was so little, I didn't really felt full. The crab was a little soggy as well. Overall, the burrito itself wasn't too satisfying. I don't know how to put it but a one-off experience of this sushi burrito is good enough for me. It didn't put me off but neither did it trigger the desire to come back for more... I still prefer traditional sushi over this rendtion.
