Not really what I expected
I got to know ClubFITT from ActiveSG since they offer $100 to buy gym passes. I went to Bedok branch which is near the stadium and paying with my ActiveSG account is easy and simple. First time I step in the gym, I was confused. The equipment does not look new and the place is rather compact and limited equipment too. I had to wait for 1 hour to get to use the bench and dumbbells although you might say that you can share but there are too many people there to share. I expected this because it is offered free (the entry is $2.50 but I used ActiveSG so it is considered free).
For those that do not mind the above flaws, I think it is a great gym for you as it offers a range of equipment like any other gyms.
However, if you find that the flaws mentioned is a concern for you, there are other gyms with better equipment at a price of $3-5 per entry which is quite reasonable. As I have only visited Bedok branch, I do not know what other branch offers but they are too far for me to go on a regular basis. I hope this review helped you decide on the gym you want to start working out at.
Great place, great workout
I feel that you definitely get your money's worth at Clubfitt. A gym that I regularly go to on off during alternate weekends, the experience is mostly pleasant.
The variety of equipment you get at the gym matches up to your expectations. For me, I was pretty satisfied as there were the standard weights, rowing, treadmill and exercise machines training more or less the muscle groups I want to work on. Moreover, the motivation is there as you see groups of people of various age groups working hard to tone themselves. You always get this feeling of not wanting to lose out when you see an uncle being able to lift weights beyond what you'd expected at the first glance.
My personel gym experience starts with running, then using machines for arms, abs, chest and thighs before commencing on light sets of weights. Unlike my friends, I do not drink protein shakes after an intense workout and instead plan to get proteins from my normal meals. I prefer a lean muscular body in comparison with one that, bulging with muscles, can come across as disgusting.
One irritating thing about clubbfitt though, is the constant huge crowd of people there, which can sometimes affect or delay your workout. Moreover, the management has this policy of forcing everyone to bring towels or else buy one small one for $1 at the counter.
Overall, worth a visit!
Value for money
I have been a frequent user of the Hougang ClubFITT gym for the past 4 years and I find that this gym in particular has a friendly vibe to it. It has a fair range of equipment and although it can get crowded at times, the gym users are willing to share the equipment with other users. Also, the more experienced weightlifters tend to give advice to beginners.
Overall, the Hougang ClubFITT gym has a friendly community and has a great value for money as it only costs $1.50 for kids and $2.50 for adults. Though I've only visited the Hougang branch, I feel that this reflects well on most ClubFITT branches.
Affordable gym prices
ClubFITT gyms debunks the myth that gyms are reserved for those with deep pockets. ClubFITT is definitely affordable and is accessible for many heartlanders not just because of the price but because of their location.
I used to frequent the gym at Tampines when I was still in my secondary school days and was looking for a gym that I could go to that I could afford on my pocket money. The facilities were sufficient although less advanced and less well-maintained than other gyms but for the price I really cannot complain. A good choice for those on a budget, just don't be too picky about things.
Tren Hard, Men
I have been going to this gym for 3 years now, with it being located near my house and having heard it had a wide range of well maintained equipment.
My experience was not far off from that. Firstly, its value for money, for students and NS men at least, with gym tickets that cost $1.50 each. Compared to gyms such as California Fitness and Fitness First, its a steal.
Secondly, there is a wide range of equipment, with treadmills, a power rack and free weights being notable. However, a small gripe I have would be the limited range for the dumbbells available. I would note that it is a minor problem and would only apply to intermediate or advanced lifters.
Lastly, I feel that the gym is fully featured and with the price you pay, definitely value for money. Do pick the right time to go though, with the gym being popular with students from schools nearby such as Boon Lay Secondary School, Westwood Secondary School and NTU. Check out the gym and adhere to your 2013 resolutions. Tren hard men!
Definitely worth your money.
I recently started working out last year and I'm happy to say that ClubFITT gyms have made this new experience very comfortable for me. Its locations are very convenient and thankfully for me the nearest one for me is just a mere two minute walk away, similar to that of most condominiums. The entry price is also very affordable: $1.50 for students and $2.50 for adults.
The equipment is very user-friendly and the staff are more than happy to assist you should you have any difficulties. During my first visit last year, I was using a particular equipment wrongly without knowing it and the staff immediately came up to me and taught me the proper technique of using the equipment. The washrooms are also very clean and water coolers are positioned in convenient locations in the gym.
For a good 2 hour workout at an affordable price, come to ClubFITT gyms!
For $2.50 & below, it's awesome.
ClubFITT gyms offer excellent facilities and services considering the affordable price of $2.50 per adult and $1.50 for those below 18. Starting off a gym routine is difficult but I did it with the help of the wonderful staff and fitness instructors at Jurong East's ClubFITT gym. The instructors will truly help you get started and will be there to check on your form and routines if you need to for free! You just have to ask them.
The gym can get crowded, but come as early in the day as you can and things will be fine. By the way, the one at Jurong East offers a wonderful view of the Swimming complex. The soothing colours of blue will really perk you up. It's a great place: well-kept and furnished. If you need help starting a gym routine, don't hesitate to call in first. The staff there are great!
Worth the money you pay
As you know, gym memberships aren't cheap. With that much sophisticated machinery, sporting equipment and assisting staff, you'd expect it to cost a fair bit. But that is not at all the case at ClubFITT Gyms. At only $2.50 per entry, this is the cheapest gym that I have ever known.
But with all that money saved, do expect to have to wait for your turn if you wish to use the more popular equipments within the gym. Regardless of the time of the day, there are usually quite a number of people within its premises. I sometimes find myself having to wait some 15-20 minutes just to use the bench press machine.
The go-to place
I am not a gym rat by any means. I hit the weights and treadmill about twice a week, and that's it. ClubFITT gyms can be found all around Singapore, which makes keeping fit and strong easy for each and every Singaporean. From Hougang, to Choa Chu Kang, to even Delta, there's probably one within walking distance from every neighbourhood.
I particularly like the one at Sengkang (Anchorvale). It is very spacious, and allows a large amount of people to come in at the same time. The weights come in a wide range as well, and in my experience, the crowd is excellent, especially around 4pm - 6pm. The price is very affordable as well, $1.50 for those 18 and below, and $2.50 for the rest.
Cool gyms to work out at.
I have had pretty good experiences at CLubFITT gyms before. My favourite ones to visit are the ones at Yishun Stadium and at Hougang. I find that these gyms have a wide range of fitness machines available for use and that the people here are generally friendly and polite. I love the spacious concept of the Hougang ClubFITT gym, where there are a couple of wall-mounted televisions for treadmill users and weight enthusiasts to watch while working out.
What I appreciate about ClubFITT is that while keeping entry fees affordable, they also provide high-quality fitness machines together with qualified gym instructors who are always ready to help out.
