Yummy fried chicken and impeccable service.
The popularity of Korean fried chicken has been rising, with stores such as 4 Fingers at the forefront of the trend. Although relatively newer, Yogiyo has also been building its own support base thanks to its authentic taste.
The fried chicken at Yogiyo is tender, with the meat falling off easily from the bones. Its’ skin is light and crispy, with no overly-greasy taste. As with most Korean fried chicken restaurants, what makes or breaks it is the sauce. I’ve tried both of Yogiyos’ Fire Hot version and their Sweet Soy version. Personally, I preferred their Sweet Soy version as I felt the sweetish savoury sauce complimented the chicken better than the spicy one.
Also, the owner of the stall is a jolly Korean who is always seen beaming and happily conversing with customers. He also patiently recommends dishes to customers struggling to make a decision. On my last trip, he even gave me a can of soft drink on the house! If there’s a service gold star sticker, Yogiyo definitely deserves it.
