The arab KFC? no thank you.
Chicking is the so called KFC of Dubai. To be honest I thought it was some sort of a joke when I was walking through City link mall, till the day I stepped foot in Dubai. I decided to give it a shot, and honestly, I am NEVER going back there again.
Vastly overpriced as compared to KFC, the food seems to be much more oily and the burger is alot smaller than I thought it would be. I thought it was some sort of a joke! Questions need not be raised as to why there is only one outlet in Singapore. There will soon be none.
Give it a miss
Chic King looked pretty appealing that one day when I was hungry and walking to Esplanade mrt. I decided to try it the next time I was in the vicinity and was quite disappointed. Its meals are priced quite highly and for its price, the portion given is quite pathetic. I ate there a couple of times more and then decided to call it quits once and for all.
The size of the chicken parts are small and do not taste any better than the ones from KFC, Texas or Popeyes. They taste pretty average and quite normal. Not juicy nor succulent. I have to admit though that their popcorn chicken did taste quite good as compared.
There was one night when I stopped by for a quick bite before heading home. It was near closing hours and the cashier was obviously feeling quite impatient. I don't remember the exact details of our conversation but what stuck with me was the impression that he was not very polite and was very impatient. I've never gone back ever since.
SInce there are so many other choices of fried chicken out there, I wouldn't recommend this place at all. If you are the area and hungry, I suggest you give this a complete miss. There are tons of other food places with better quality and service in the vicinity.
One of the worst fast food chicken outlets.
Located along the linkway from Esplanade to Marina Square. this is one of the newer chicken outlets that have popped up in Singapore (another is Texas Chicken). I was wondering why there were so little customers given the small newspaper clipping pasted on the glass, praising the chicken here. Hence, out of curiosity (and my love for fried chicken), I decided to give it a try.
Unfortunately, it disappointed in every way. The chicken served was not crispy at all, one could even call it soggy. Portion was disappointing and meagre. Drinks were a little on the stale side (lacked fizz). If I recall correctly, the prices were also slightly more expensive than KFC.
Atmosphere was dismal, perhaps due to the lack of bustle. Only other customers I saw were a small group of students and a few retail workers. Given its disappointing food and better competitors in the same price range (KFC at nearby Marina Square), one really wonders how it has survived so long.
I was pretty much hungry that particular night and I was looking for a new place to eat. I am a person who keeps changing my taste unless it's very nice then it will be permanent for me. I came across Chicking Fried Chicken, I guess it's a new fast food restaurant. It's similar to KFC or Popeye’s as all of them specializes in fried crispy chicken.
I was unsure of what to get for my hungry stomach. The food looks appetizing but I wasn't confident enough to try as I was afraid of being disappointed. Thus I decided to order something easy which is a Chicken Nugget set. It consists of six chicken nuggets, fries and a small drink. I paid $6 for it. The moment I look at my food, I was thinking if this is a kids meal or for anyone. The nuggets are smaller than the ones at MacDonald’s. It wasn't even well tasting too as I could still taste cold frozen parts inside. The fries were not fresh as they were too soggy. The drink wasn’t even filled up to the brim. It’s like someone has just sipped your drink and gave it to you.
I wouldn’t recommended this place as you won’t be paying for what you see on the menu.
