enchanting winter wonderland a dream come true

Every Christmas Gardens by the Bay is transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with light sculptures, a festive market and carnival games. Honestly I had no idea such a festival was held at all until I was invited by a friend to go 2 days after Christmas. We arrived around 8pm, and I was immediately captivated by the Luminarie illuminations spanning the entire festival site.

The Ice Palace was the most crowded area, especially the Snow Playground which was filled with small children and their parents. We idled there for a while, mostly for the air conditioning. Carnival games were priced pretty steep, with each token costing us $2 and most games requiring at least 2 tokens to play. We passed on the rides too – the Helter Skelter Slide costs $8 a person, while the carousel would set us back by 5 tokens each. The Festive Market was delightful, albeit overpriced, and there was a wide variety of stores available from The Dutch Pancake Store to Isetan (Craft Hut). There was a different lineup of programmes everyday too, including the Christmas Garden Rhapsody and Blizzard Time at the Supertree Grove, which made the night even more magical.

Christmas Wonderland was truly enjoyable – you’ll find yourself immersed in the festive spirit and it’ll be a night to remember.
