Cozy bistro but in a relatively unknown place
A spanish restaurant in the new Alexandra Retail Centre, this little bistro leaves much to be uncovered. I was initially worried as they advertised greatly on their selection of wines and I was not much of a wine person. Thankfully, they do have a comfortable selection of beers, with a couple of exotic ones from Spain.
They do have an extensive menu, but some were too plain and common to appeal to both my dining partner and I. However, what we did order was all done really well.
Spicy garlic prawns: fresh and crisp, sufficiently spicy (though it might be a bit too spicy for some) and done with LOTS of garlic to fragrant perfection. This was one of the items which we re-ordered
Pan fried garlic with sausages: another one that's done really well. the garlic was not overpowering and provided a nice flavour to the dish
Nachos: tasted just like doritos
Seafood platter: too much fried food in a platter. I personally dont think that fried food goes well with alcohol. But i have to admit that the items were all done well, with the exception of the calamari which were too chewy
I would really recommend the first two items, and the seafood platter if you are a fan of fried platters. With ARC newly opened, not many people know about it and hence reservations may not necessarily be required. But like always, its always good to ensure that you have a seat; you definitely wouldnt want to go all the way there only to realise that the place is full!
