A breath of fresh air in the world of music
There’s nothing worse than finding a small independent artist that you love but lives across the world, and accepting the fact that they’re never going to be able to come to little old Singapore. Yet, thanks to Music Matters Live, I was able to stop crying myself to sleep over thinking that I’d never see one of my favourite artists. Not only did I get to see him twice and get a selfie, but also the whole thing was free.
The first night I went to was much more intimate. Held in a bar at Clarke Quay, artists were able to interact and joke around with the audience and the whole thing felt a lot more special than many other gigs that I have been to. It seemed too good to be true, I was able to see these amazing acts completely for free, and there would be more going on the next day also. It was a side of the music industry that I hadn’t really experienced before, it was all about sharing good music rather than profits and self greed, so a really refreshing experience.
The second performance at Clarke Quay was for anyone to attend, those who walked past could stop and watch for a while and witness some free amazing music. If you feel like experiencing some of the world's best acts looking for their break through as well as being able to listen to lots of free music, make sure you look out for Music Matters Live 2016.
