Your One Stop Korean Beauty Haul
Have you ever watched a beauty blogger rave about a product, show you swatches of lip colours and foundation shades and after you get hooked on a particular blush shade, you realise that it’s not available in Singapore? That used to be me at every Korean makeup tutorial, until I discovered Llang in Bugis+, a Korean beauty shop that stocks the products made by their own beauty bloggers - famous gurus like Pony and Kyungsun. I’ve always been interested in the Pony Memebox cream blush, and a plus point about Llang is that the products stocked all have how-to tutorials by the bloggers on their youtube channels.
I bought the Pony Memebox peachy orange cream blush in #04 Amanda for $19 and the Kyungsun Bad Girl mascara for $23 - both cheaper than the regular Watsons Maybelline alternatives, and immensely better too. The cream blush was smooth but not sticky, and the colour stays on all day even in the humid Singapore air. The pretty peachy orange colour also shows up on my tan skin, a phenomenon that almost never happens with Korean products which are usually more suited to pale skin! Needless to say, I am completely taken by this blush.
The Kyungsun Bad Girl Mascara also wowed me; I’ve tried so many youtube-famous products like Maybelline The Falsies and Majolica Majorca’s lash extender range, but none have worked wonders on my short lashes. This mascara comes with two brushes, one thin, short and lengthening, and the other thick and volumizing. I use the thin side first to lengthen my lashes, then coat them with the volumizing side, and ta da! I suddenly have noticeable shutter lashes. I’d recommend the lengthening end for schoolgoers, for its enhancing effects are so subtle and natural that sometimes I forget that I even have mascara on!
