Good Skin care
Walking past, the skeleton with the doctor coat thrown over is the first thing that catches my attention. So, what is this skeletal figure doing cloaked in a robe like that, I wonder.
After thinking about it, it seems that the skeleton is the shop's most attractive mascot - it compels me to go inside to take a look. Upon coming into contact with the products, I bite my nails nervously. The prices are sky-rocket high for just some facial care and skin products. Definitely not within my budget.
I decide to go on-line and check out this 'unknown' brand. The US Site is furnished with all their products but the thing that catches my attention the most is the difference in price. I quickly make payment on-line. Upon receiving the products, I actually realised that I had gotten more than what I had paid for. The skin care products were amazing - sharing it with my mother, she too commented on the effectiveness of the products.
Definitely a must buy for the skin weary. No wonder the shops are placed strategically in expensive malls. Only those who can afford to splurge on skin care can afford these.
To moisture or not to moisture?
I recently bought myself Kiehl's water-based lotion with SPF 25. I have a fairly combination skin which makes it hard for me to find the perfect moisturiser I can slap on before my makeup. With all my previous facial moisturisers, they either help with my oily skin or my dry skin areas, never both. And all of them fail in making my makeup less cakey during the day.
Hopefully I'm not the only one, but in the mornings, after cleansing my face, my skin gets awfully dry. So I'll put on a layer of creamy facial moisturiser, which works wonders for the areas where the skin peels. Everything works out fine, until during the day, when it's hot, I'll tend to perspire under that heavy creamy facial moisturiser, causing my make up to get cakey. It gets rather frustrating for me because I'll have to touch up my makeup.
Thanks to Kiehl's water-based lotion, I don't have to redo my makeup every so often. It actually helps me with my dry skin areas and controls the oily areas during the hot days. It's not greasy and absorbs into the skin quite quickly. I highly recommend this product to anyone who goes through the same problem I did!
great skincare products!
The image that Kiehl's projects is a really unique one that seems to work well. From the store decor and their staff wearing labcoats to the attractive, artsy designs of their products, this brand gives me the impression that they are very familiar with most customer's wants and have the ability to deliver.
One of my favourite items is their sunscreen, which is the best I've tried ever. It has a high SPF but none of that icky sunblock smell that some other brands do, and simply melts into the skin upon application, leaving no whitish cast or greasiness behind at all!
I'm also very fond of how many of Kiehl's products are made from natural, organic ingredients, and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. Of course, such quality comes at a hefty cost :( but oh well, you get what you pay for!
Kiehls is a brand that dabbles in the scientific dimension of skincare. The overall concept of the store appeals to me and looks really professional and gives me a feeling that they know what they are doing! Upon entering the store at Vivocity, I was provided assistance by the sales assistants who were donned in lab coats. Real scientists/dermatologists or not, I don't know. But I do know that it gave a much more professional look as compared to a look without the lab coat.
I was asked about my concerns and I told them my skin was getting dull and ugly looking. Okay, ugly looking wasn't the best description, but you get what I mean. He then recommended me the Midnight Recovery Concentrate which was designated for night use. I told him I had oily skin and I was concerned about the oil-based concentrate being too heavy for my skin. He then went on to explain some scientific theory about how the oil in the concentrate will help slow down the oil production from my oil glands. I didn't really understand but I trusted the brand (see how consumer trust is so important in retail?). I was convinced and walked out with a bottle of concentrate (couldn't wait to use it) and $90 poorer. I use it on and off, and for girls who are more prone to acne during their pre-menstrual days, this concentrate is really helpful to balance the oil production of your face which would lead to lesser acne and pimples. I'm thinking of getting the eye cream in the midnight recovery range soon.
I didn't notice that there was a Kiehls store at Tampines till an idol of mine began endorsing their stuffs. There were dangling skeletons greeting the doorway. The smell lingered near the confusing state of pungency. Almost. Still bearable though. The store was dimly lit. I recalled being intrigued by the choice of colours which no ordinary store will choose as their lighting. It casted some sort of a Halloween fiesta vibe. Interesting.
I didn't really absorb the information that was printing on the containers there. Unfortunately, I was too distracted by the environment. Maybe it was due to my wallet contents. Had there been wads of notes and a mountainous supply of gold coins seeded within my wallet till it becomes a struggle to buckle it, I may actually be readily grabbing the unique items off the racks without even reading. Not even the slightest bit of alphabet printed there.
wide range of products catering to different conditions/concerns
Kiehl's storefront is both attractive in terms of display and the logo of the brand. Also, it's tie-ups with abstract/graffiti artists to design their product packaging is both eye-catching and appealing.
I've been using their lip balm for many years, it just does not seem to end! ^^ Not only do their products look good, their functions are really as claimed and does help keep my lips moist and prevent dry/cracked lips. Also, the fragrance is not too sweet or overwhelming, just a subtle hint. They also stock a wide array of products, ranging from hand and foot treatments, body scrubs to hair products for different types of skin/hair. There is also a Men's range, where the metrosexual man can obtain his products to look good.
Definitely recommended a visit.
