I hope my review would still be helpful to others even though I didn't try the products on my face. This brand is not unfamiliar to me as it was always featured in the newspapers column for Beauty Q and A. It was only recently I got to try the testers as I went to Sephora in KL.
The foundation is supposedly one of the bestsellers and I can totally see why. When I applied it on my hands, the skin look really pretty, dewy, and healthy. There is not much coverage but I think that's what concealers are for. I believe that the average skin can look flawless with Laura Mercier products.
Just a little dab here & there
I have never heard of the brand Laura Mercier until I was introduced to it by my makeup artist friend. As a makeup artist, she has all the ins and outs of all makeup brands. I managed to score a makeover session with her on a lazy Sunday. It was then that I was introduced to Laura Mercier's Secret Finish Mattifying Primer/Lotion.
My current holy grail of all primers, it can be used under or over my foundation. Not only does it leave me with glowing skin, it mattifies my oily-prone areas. I went and got myself one immediately after the makeover. You don't need to use a lot at once, just a small pea size blob will be enough; and just a little dab here & there is needed. Which then means, that the product will last a long time.
Overall, I give it two thumbs up, though high quality products would also mean not-so-friendly-prices.
Best Tinted Moisturizer?
Hmm I’ve been hesitant for long time before deciding to go ahead and splurge on a tube of her Tinted Moisturizer($68 a bottle) in Natural and ‘Oil-free’. They have other variants of ‘Normal’ as well as ‘Illuminating’, all with SPF20 sunscreen.
✔ Protection from the sun
✔ Nice smell
✗ Doesn’t provide much coverage
✗ Doesn’t spread too well, can get a bit flaky (maybe because it’s the Oil-free version)
✗ Face still got greasy after awhile, not at all ‘DEWY’ look like they said
I still use it on days when I want to give my face a breather without looking all run-down. It works okay for me but I guess I wouldn’t purchase another tube. Not worth the price.
Lipsticks with awesome shades and impressive formula
My mom bought me a gorgeous lipstick when we were shopping at Sephora the other day. I was looking for a vibrant berry/plum lipstick but got somewhat of an intense fuchsia colour instead. I know this lipstick from Laura Mercier may not be from the latest range but, it's such a universally flattering shade so we bought it anyway!
Figured i'd do a review because i've been getting tons of compliments ever since i wore it out! It is officially one of my go-to lipsticks! Not only does it have an impressive formula, comprising of olive oil and vitamin E, it is ultra long-lasting and gives awesome coverage.
Colour: Bold, fun and a little naughty. This was the main reason why i was drawn to the lipstick. It is such a gorgeous colour, wouldn't you agree? :) 4.5/5
Texture: Rich and creamy and has a smoth glide on texture. Feels really buttery and moisturing and not the least drying after prolonged wear. 4.5/5
Coverage: Opaque coverage, good pigmentation with added sheen. I applied the lipstick with a lip brush so it was quite precise and didn't really feather around the edges. 4/5
Wearability: Able to last 4-5hours without re-application. Still leaves a substantial amount of stain after food consumption so it doesn't look as if i've eaten up all my lipstick along with my meal. 4/5
Packaging: Features an ultra-sleek metalized finish for it's futuristic packaging. 4/5
Value: At SGD33, i'd say this is one of the best steals so far, it's reasonably priced for a luxurious lipstick along with all its added benefits. 4/5
Overall: Luxury at a fraction of the cost! Definitely worth camping at the counters to try out all their different shades. Also bought Strawberry Sorbet for an Aunt because the formula is absolutely divine! Hoping they would introduce more colours into their range! 4/5
This would make an exceptional gift for girlfriends without burning a hole in your pocket. If she's not adventurous with bold colours, try these shades instead - Laura Mercier Spiced Rose, Strawberry Sorbet, Crème Coral or Palm Beach.

Translucent setting powder - Thumbs up
Ever since LM came into the Sephora scene, I have been googling for reviews on their products. In the end, I got the translucent setting powder and caviar eye shadow stick. If you are looking for a high quality, finely milled and glowy setting powder, look no further!!!! The powder not only brightens your undereye area but it also controls oil VERY well. I pair this with my MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream and it tames my oil rig face. The powder retails at $50/$60+ and it is so worth it. I have been using it since last year and still have plenty left. You can use a little of it and it will do the job perfectly well!
The eye shadow stick is a no-brainer product. Twist the stick up, rub some on your eyelids and smudge it. Voila! You would get a no effort smokey eye. Pigmentation is there and there is no fall off as it is a cream eyeshadow. Once it sets, it is locked there and will not shift around unlike some other more volatile eyeshadows. Overall, good quality brand with cosmetics that could potentially be part of your daily routine.
