Recently Laneige gave out free whitening samples to fans who liked their FB page and promotional post. Loving cheap thrills, I also went to collect my free samples!
I have to say that their service was really great. First, the samples that they gave were really generous. They actually gave you a week supply of it and I find it to be so thoughtful because consumers could then have an accurate gauge of whether the product works or not.
Sadly, the product doesn’t work for me. I love their texture but after a week there wasn’t any visible difference on my skin.
Aside from this product, I have also bought their set of facial cleanser and highly raved sleeping mask. Similarly, there wasn’t any visible improvement.
Overall, I think their products are really mild and hence great for people looking to maintain their current skin condition or for those with sensitive skin. But if you are looking for miracles, perhaps you should continue with your search!
Simple formula, potent effects
The younger crowd might find this brand a little costly and not sure if it's worth investing. I'll say, yes it is! It's especially popular with it's product formulated to suit younger skin. At times, they have sample packs that are rather generous with mini bottles that you can try.
I'm currently using their sleeping pack every alternate night between my skincare regimes and I simply love how my skin looks in the morning when I get up. It looks smooth, healthy and most importantly, glowing(not the greasy kind)!
I like how they packaged their products simply, with a theme of blue to tie in with their emphasis on the use of water. I recommend this brand if your skin is on the drier side!
make this your skin's best friend
This is my absolute favourite skincare brand of all time! I've always had very dry skin and normal t-zone, therefore it's been hard for me to find the perfect skincare for my face.
There was a period when my face was so dry my cheeks would flake. I began trying all the different types of products from various brands but to no avail. Tried so many products, burnt a hole in my pocket, but still no difference. Desperate I bought Laneige from the Jcube outlet as a last resort, thinking I'll give up after this bottle if it doesn't work.
I purchased the gel cream from the Waterbank collection and it turned out to be the best thing ever! Moisturizes my skin like no other and smelled really good as well. This gel cream is perfect for dry skin, just bought my third jar yesterday.
Smells so good
Dedicating this review to Laneige Water Sleeping Pack, because it is just so good! Aside from the beautiful blue jar that greet you when you open it, just a slight whiff of the sleeping pack itself just make you so relaxed.
They actually have a patent for this aroma called Sleepscent, it is aim to aid sleep and relaxation while you rest for the night, which is really great since I have trouble sleeping. I wouldn't say it help directly, but because it smells so good, it relaxes you, put you in a good mood and that is already the first step to a good night sleep! It is almost like an aromatherapy done while you are hydrating and taking care of your skin, how great is that?
I wouldn't bore you with the details on the ingredients, but the texture of this sleeping pack is awesome, it is very light and gel like, the last thing you want on your face is a cream consistency that bothers with your sleeping.
It is very hydrating and refreshing, ideal for people with dry skin. It is actually for all skin types, even the oily skin type since the reason for oily skin is due to the skin being dry and the body can only supply moisture by producing sebum, so by hydrating your skin, it would regulate the oil production. You would wake up to a softer and smoother face the next morning!
Although it is not exactly cheap, but the product lasts for quite long , and is really worth it since it works really well.
Beauty Through Water Science
Meaning ‘snow' in French, Laneige is a unisex beauty and skincare brand established in 1994 that specialises in skin repair and cleansing, using moisture / water based technology in their range of products. While their primary focus is on developing skincare products for women, Laneige also has a good range of skincare for men as well.
Laneige has won several awards for its use of water based technology in their products, which makes it more refreshing, natural, and gentle on the skin as compared to other lines of skincare products. This also means that Laneige products are more easily absorbed by the skin, and also serve to hydrate and moisturize the skin faster.
Popular items at Laneige include their range of pore cleansers, makeup removers, sunscreen, skin refiners for oily and / or dry skin, eye care, and anti-aging treatments. The majority of Laneige products are suitable for sensitive skin.
Prices for Laneige products are rather affordable, and you'll spend about SGD $30 - $70 per product. I particularly like their Pore Clearing Cleanser for Men, which has a refreshing feel.
Because Laneige places such a heavy emphasis on water in their products, they support the 'Water Sharing Campaign', which provides healthcare to disadvantaged children living in environments with poor sanitation, as well as supporting a fund to provide clean water to Tabarako Village, located in south Sikasso in Mali.
HOLY GRAIL MASKS/BB CREAM
I've been a religious Laneige consumer for the past 3 years and I use more than 30 products from their skincare and makeup range. I started with their skincare range and even though it took me a few months before i finally noticed slight changes to my complexion, the products have helped improved and maintain my skin.
I wouldn't say that all the products are amazing but here's a list of those that have been an integral part of my skincare regime:-
1. Clear C Effector (a water-base vitamin-c booster that helps replenish and rejuvenate the skin. it's the FIRST and most essential step to my daily routine.)
2. ALL their Masks (But the Water Sleeping Pack, White Plus Renew Purifying Mask & Water Bank Double Moisture Masks are at the top of my lists of the best korean masks. VERY effective and suitable for my oily-combination skin type .)
3. Snow BB Soothing Cushion (Best BB Cream i've used by far, comes in a pact with a sponge for easy, mess-free application. Has a light consistency but gives a good light-to-medium coverage and is easy to layer on. SPF 50 ++ PA is a major bonus!)
Their makeup range is as equally promising as their skincare range and i do recommend ladies to give their products a try as most of their products are quite reasonably priced and compatible for our asian skin type, especially in our humid tropical climate.
Though i must add that one shouldn't expect to see results overnight, these things take time and it took me several months before i noticed a smoother, glowing complexion.
I am one of the dedicated users of the Laniege sleeping pack. I find the texture really light and watery and it absorbs easily into the skin. I hate anything oily and heavy on my face and this sleeping pack is a god send for my oily skin. Even if you have oily skin, you need to moisturise!!! I put it on and the next morning, my skin is all radiant and glowy. It's really amazing isn't it? I've heard that some people did not see the effects they wanted but there are so many different skin types and conditions and you really have to try it for yourself to see what works for you and what does not.
The sleeping pack is the only product I use from this brand. It improved the appearance of my skin and I use it religiously every night. Whenever a friend or relative goes to Korea, they would definitely know what I want them to get me. It's much cheaper there in Korea so if you are heading there, stock up on the waterpacks!! There are brick and mortar stores in Singapore as well and you can always ask for samples before committing to the full-sized tub.
Pamper your skin!
This is by far one of the best affordable korean beauty brands that I have used. My friend bought numerous Laniege products in South Korea and thanks to her, I got to use many samples given to her as a result. Certainly, Laniege have lived up to my expectations.
I have always preferred bb creams over foundations, and I am picky about bb cream brands because most of them only provide very sheer coverage. I had half-expected Laniege's snow bb cream to provide sheer coverage, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that not only did it provide decent coverage, it felt light on my skin as well.
The crowning Laniege product would have to be the water bank moisture cream. It kept my skin moisturized and significantly reduced facial sebum (I have combination skin), leaving my face feeling fresh and soft. I also noticed a decrease in acne outbreak after religiously using their water bank series. I know of people who stand firm by the water sleeping pack, but it did not do much for me.
I would recommend purchasing Laniege products in Seoul instead of Singapore - the price difference could save you from burning a hole in your wallet.
I have not really heard much from this brand although I have seen it around quite a bit. Some of my friends use it and they think the "snow" skin collection works wonders on their skin. My mother recently gave me the snow moisturizer to try, as she says is really good for the skin. I am still quite skeptical about this product because it says that this "snow water" really improves skin quality alot.
I feel that after using it a few times, there are not many obvious differences. Seems like the effects of my skin before and after using the product are the same and I am not sure if I would continue using it. The cream is light though and unlike most moisturisers that make you feel very sticky after applying it, this just disappears into the skin.
I would maybe try out some other products, since it is really recommended. Perhaps a mask or something the next time I go to the shops if the budget allows for it.
Light and simple
A brand I've started using 2years back. I was in Seoul and because Laneige's advertisement is like splashed everywhere, I decided to give its magic a try. I remember walking into the store ( in myeong dong) and was greeted by this 'beautiful' man. His complexion was oh-so-flawless that for a moment, I felt embarrassed as a woman. Anyways, after much cheerful blabbering in his non-understandable English, I decided to buy the set he was recommending in hope to achieve his standard of complexion.
Using it religiously for the next 3 weeks, I was totally convinced of its good effect. Unlike the other facial products I've used, the water bank series is very light and my skin absorbs the goodness very quickly so I do not need to wait for minutes to apply the next cream. My skin feels cleaner and more supple these days, seeing lesser outbreak of acne too. It's a trusted skincare product I dearly hold on to and will recommend to all of you.
