Being one of the oldest churches in Singapore, Novena Church is quite known for its classic architecture. While modern Churches are equipped with air-conditioning, Novena has ample fresh air to freshen its Devotees. It is said to be miraculous because of the many testimonies of believers who have had their share of bountiful blessings and answered prayers. There is always a multitude of people to and from the church especially during Novena masses.
This church is especially busy on Saturdays and Sundays. Sunday being a day of obligation for Catholics, and Saturdays for the Perpetual Help Novena. A vast display of worship is seen from overflowing flower offerings and candle lighting. Personal Petitions and Thanksgiving letters are dropped at the drop boxes within the church. Some of these letters are read during the Novena Masses to religiously inspire churchgoers.
There is a gift shop beside the Church selling religious and souvenir items too.
Immensely popular with thousands.
Every Saturday, the stretch of Thomson Road from Thomson Medical Centre to Novena MRT is always packed with slow-moving traffic. This is due to the vast number of people heading to Novena Church. The jam is caused by cars moving in and out of the church.
