Salted egg yoke crabs
Big Eater has been the go-to place for my family ever since we discovered it a few years back. Our must-have is definitely the Salted Egg Yoke crabs. They serve black pepper and chilli crabs too, but the salted egg yoke outshines all. I love how the salted egg yoke is just slightly sweet so you are not overwhelmed by the egg taste. The slight sweetness is further augmented by the sweetness of the crab; it is simply delicious.
Another dish would be the Dong Po pork, braised pork belly in a sticky sweet sauce. The meat literally melts in your mouth because it is that tender.
We used to always order the Crystal Hor Fun, but sadly its standard has been dropping over our visits. As of now, it is tasteless glass noodles with too much beansprouts. They might also recommend you the wasabi prawns, but honestly the prawns have zero wasabi taste. You might be better off with the cereal prawns instead!
Aside from those 2 dishes, the others are all above average to great. Additionally, Big Eater offers air-conditioned and non air-conditioned seating, such that you can enjoy your meal in comfort and to your liking.
