Arguably the most obscure hidden gem in Singapore!
My family absolutely adores this place, and why shouldn't we? Everything about this place is simply rave-worthy.
First the food. My family has been frequenting this place for more than a decade and we've tried almost everything on their menu. Nothing has disappointed so far. Every food they serve has a special taste to it, different from the original or the typical, but in a delectable and exciting new way. I especially love the congee, it's even better than those I've had in Hong Kong (and I've eaten a lot of congee in Hong Kong). It's what I'd call satisfyingly 'slurpilicious'. It has a very nice homey feel to it, but it's definitely something few will be able to make at home, or even have the skill to make at home. Their generosity on the ingredients is another merit you'll be hard-pressed to find in Singapore.
Their fresh Tilapia is fantastic too, and it is really, really a steal at its price. As for their hotplate beancurd, I've never tasted hotplate beancurd quite like their's anywhere else in Singapore. Sun Lok's has a spicy, tomato tang to it that makes it especially delicious and unique. It's arguably the best hotplate beancurd I've ever eaten.
The dim sum here is good too. It's already one of the better ones in Singapore, but if you factor in its price, it's downright excellent. Their standard of food is very high and a meal there is almost way too friendly on the pocket!
