Good Soup & Nice Ambience

A few days ago, I just patronised this new cafe at Bedok Point. The ambience of the outlet was not bad with dark wood furnishings and windows facing the road. It's a self-service eatery where customers circle their orders on order sheets and go to the counter to place their orders. After payment, a buzzer will be given for the self collection of food.

I had their Black Chicken with Cordyceps and rice, which was served quite promptly. The soup was not too oily and tasted surprisingly good with a few pieces of tender chicken and 2 big pieces of mushroom.
In fact, I finished the whole bowl of soup till the last drop.

They have interesting side dishes which may be worth trying next time. Discount coupons can be downloaded from PickatSG.

Slightly overpriced Teh & Kopi

I happened to be in the Star Vista area and I had passed by the OWL Cafe several times before, but never had the chance to actually try their offerings. I had wanted to try their Kopi Luwak but later found out that they had stopped serving it due to animal rights.

The OWL Cafe consists of an outdoor dining area and an indoor dining area, however the outdoor area seemed to be closed during off-peak periods. Anyway, it was raining very heavily on the day that I went, and coupled with strong gusts of wind, I entered the cafe slightly wet. The cafe is located such that there is no fully sheltered pathway to its entrance.

I had the potato wedges with nacho cheese and I loved it, simply because it had been served piping hot to me. I coupled it with a hot Teh, which was strong and fragrant, which was pretty satisfying on a cold rainy day. The prices here are comparatively more expensive then their cheaper coffee shop alternative, so maybe it would not be worthwhile to visit this place if you are just looking for a cup of coffee or tea. Their lunch specials look value-for-money though, so I would consider trying those out if I happen to be in the area again.

Being situated in a shopping mall, finding parking will not be an issue for drivers. On top of that, this is an easily accessible place given that it is located right beside Buona Vista MRT.
