E&O Group’s homegrown bistro Delicious makes its Singapore debut after seven successful outlets in Malaysia. Its winning formula of shabby chic interiors, outstanding fusion and Malaysian favourites (think: nasi kerabu), and cost-conscious prices is calculated to make a convert of shoppers and students. Wholesome and very well-received dishes include duck confit spaghettini; Thai mango and arugula salad with medium-rare pan-seared steak slices; and masala lambshank – a hearty hybrid of kandar and korma which combines all the best of Malaysia’s flavours on a plate.

Delicious?? So-so

Visited Delicious once a weeks back as my friends heard of the raves about that restaurant. We decided to give it a try. We met for lunch at 12 noon and there was no one in the restaurant. Not sure if that was good or not. We found out soon later.

I ordered a salmon stir fried cha soba. The salmon was seared well, crispy on the outside but was a little dry/overcooked. The stir fried cha soba sounded pretty interesting but it was too oily and garlicky for my liking. Finished the salmon and left the cha soba almost untouched. My friends' dishes were pretty ok. Nothing to shout about. I thought that their teas were pretty refreshing though.

The decor of the restaurant is very bright and comfortable. Since there was no one in the restaurant at the time, the waitresses were very attentive. Overall, so-so food but it makes a nice quiet place to catch up with some friends in the heart of town.

... Delicious.

I think Delicious is a somewhat cliched name. Also, it raises your expectations of that place (I mean, any eatery that DARES to name itself Delicious must be absolutely fantastic right?), and with sky high expectations, comes crushing disappointment.

However, Delicious certainly did live up to its namesake though. After reading rave reviews about the desserts, I decided to give them a try. I was, indeed, not disappointed. I've always been an adventurous eater, up to try just anything and everything, so I gave their pavlova a shot, without actually knowing what a pavlova is. It turned out to be a meringue sort of dessert, with a crumbly crust and a soft, light, delectable inside. It was so perfectly decadent and I enjoyed it tremendously.

The decor was also extremely inviting, and I have to admit, its minimalist decor was what aroused my interest in the eatery in the first place (since it certainly couldn't have been its name).

I guess the only con to this place would be its name. I mean, Delicious? Really? So unoriginal.

Great dessert at somewhat reasonable prices

What first drew us to the cafe was its immaculate white facade, and the huge birdcages dangling from different ends of the ceiling. It was quite empty when we got there, so the ambience was perfect. We stayed there for hours sipping on water and stuffing our faces with forkful after forkful of their delectable, decadent desserts. I just love beguiling my weekday afternoons in this way.

We had some berries pavlova and their sticky date pudding. It was my first time trying a pavlova so I wasn't quite accustomed to how crumbly it actually was. It wasn't dense in a cake-like way at all but actually quite hollow inside. But the sweetness of the meringue and the tartness of the berries make for a good combination. I preferred the sticky date pudding, which to my surprise wasn't cloyingly sweet at all. The souffle-like thing was accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream and some butterscotch (or was it caramel?) sauce. It was fantastic, and surprisingly so because I really don't fancy dates (I mean the dried fruit, by the way).

Try out their desserts!

I think delicious just opened this year, and I've already been here a number of times! I love how the restaurant is so spacious and aqua-colored, makes me feel I'm in a resort kinda restaurant.

Their desserts are DA BOMB! I love how everything here is so reasonably priced, despite the premier location! Their duck spaghetti and banana caramel dessert is a must try!

Great for a casual date or get-together (:

The eatery's decor is tastefully done up in shades of blue and white, complemented a wall of plants. It is inviting and the tables are adequately spaced from each other to ensure for privacy and less noise from other people's conversations.

The food is priced around the $10-$20 for mains which was delish! I ordered the Spicy Crabmeat Linguini ($15) which was quite a generous portion - I couldnt finish it all. There was a generous amount of crabmeat in the pasta, and the dish was completed with a garnish of pine nuts which went very well together.

The service staff are attentive and were always ready to attend to us. We also wanted a dessert but upon looking at the dessert display (we were there about 830pm) there were only a few cakes left. We asked if we could reserve a cake for us and the staff were obliging (:

I had a pleasant dining experience and will definitely be back for more!
