The Chevrons Hot
The SAF Warrant Officers And Specialists Club was relocated from Beach Road to Boon Lay Way in October 2001, with the new identity known as THE CHEVRONS. The Chevrons refers to the v-shaped stripe worn by all Warrant Officers and Specialists as insignia of their ranks.
They are stacked with facilities that include a badminton and tennis court, bowling centre and gym. There is also an arcade, SPA and childcare centre and kids playroom. There are function rooms, karaoke, lounge, jackpot an even an eMart!
Member rates are almost half the price of the listed public rates starting at just $70! Member rates are just $5 a month.

Luxurious and spacious
I feel that while SAFRA and the Chevrons have largely similar objectives and style of management, a visit to a SAFRA outlet versus that of The Chevrons would lead you to detect a distinct difference in terms of culture.
SAFRA welcomes you with wide open arms. From afar, you could already feel the comfort and warmth in the colourful and pleasant clubhouse building. However, the Chevrons give out a more dignified air, with its monotony in colour and its relatively heavy manning of the guardhouse. The architecture is akin to that of the interior of a medieval castle: roomy, spacious and designed magnificently.
In general, what The Chevrons have in terms of facilities is comparable to most SAFRA clubhouses. There is of course, an E-mart, OSIM chairs, a pool, gym and even an arcade (however I did not find the selection of games machines to my satisfaction). However, what I especially like about the Chevrons would be the plentiful sofas and comfortable chairs where you can sit and relax in convenience. Moreover, the numerous places to hold an event is an event planner's dream come true. The style in which the events are supported and promoted is indeed commendable, having attended my unit's cohesion there recently.
Overall, a pleasant albeit militaristic environment. Great place for spending some alone time!
Funny location for chalet
I did not how my sister-in-law got to be a member of this place. Anyway, since she was a member, she thought she would use the membership privilege and booked a chalet.
The first reaction I had when I knew the location was to laugh. People staying in Jurong East must think we really want to experience the air in Jurong East area. Although some distance from the HDB flats but this place was no where near any beach or wilderness.
The feeling I got from the stay was like going on a cruise, the room was near swimming pool and there were all the entertainment facilities within the same building. Once you checked in, you don't have to leave the compound, everything you needed was within the compound.
