Located along the southern fringe of the Central Business District, klapsons, The Boutique Hotel affords quiet sophistication, refined luxury and functionality. Passionately crafted by William Sawaya of contemporary design forerunner Sawaya & Moroni, guests luxuriate in a practical yet innovative alternative to mainstream perceptions of a hotel stay. Each guestroom is individually characterised such that no two rooms are alike. Boasting over 750sqm of event space with superlative views of the Singapore Port and the heritage of the Tanjong Pagar residential estate, klapsons is the first boutique hotel in Singapore to offer three intimate yet distinct venues for corporate seminars, meetings, social engagements and weddings. The Sleeping Rhino is the hotel's bistro-styled restaurant that conjures wholesome casual dining at Lobby Level; Lucas Deli serves up gourmet and takeaway bites; while the sky-terrace bar, Fabrika, perched on 17th floor was opened in August 2010. The hotel is managed by Wisteria Hotel Management Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Jit Sun Investments.

Relaxed, beautifully decorated, and perfect for events

Fabrika, the rooftop bar at Klapsons Boutique Hotel, was perfect. My friend (who likes to impress) rented the entire place out for her birthday, and everything from service and drinks to the free food was incredible. At night, the bar has a really elegant feel to it, and for such a large amount of space, it didn’t feel too spread out or sparsely furnished.

The view of the CBD from the bar at night is obviously an amazing sight, and having waiters tend on your every need, usually topping up your wine, really gives it that extra something. The service is quick, the feel of the place is relaxed, and the Middle Eastern Style furnishings make it different from many other places that I’ve gone to before.

The seating is sectioned into little areas, creating small separate spaces on the roof which really help to make the place feel more intimate. If like me you’re not into clubs and would rather look across the city feeling super fancy and eating the best free chips that I’ve ever had in my life, I’d definitely look into Fabrika for a birthday or work event. And if you’re just stuck for somewhere to go and chill after work or on the weekend, you’re still sure to have a really good evening.
