Acid Bar Hot
Aptly described as an enclave with edge and soul by grungy barflies and creative cracks. Experience a blend of sensory elements and take flight to a different plane. Acoustic sessions featuring genres of radio alternatives, top 40s and an occasional touch of percussions are played nightly from 7pm. Consume nightly before rest a myriad of concoctions; tray of 25 apple/lychee shooters and buckets of the golden juice with touch go budgets. Fret not growling guts as our kitchen maestro whips up tantelicious hot chicken wings and crunchy calamari while acid bar croons and the blue cows dance.

Great for a night's out!
I love going there during their happy hour for the really cheap beers. I don't think I've found another place in town serving a pint of Erdinger for $9.90. But be sure to order before 9pm! The prime location and live band also sweetens the deal. I haven't tried much of their food other than their truffle fries, which I remembered to be quite expensive. But I guess the cheap drinks made up for it.
Would definitely go back for a night of beer and live music!
The place to be
Acid bar is without a doubt my favourite bar in Singapore. Hidden from plain sight, Acid Bar offers a decent variety of good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Nothing beats their 'fish and chips' accompanied by their assorted cocktails. It was delicious beyond words - I think I fell in love.
The best part of Acid is the live music and cosy atmosphere. I like that I am able to sincerely enjoy the music without it having to be so loud that I am unable to engage in conversations with my friends. The band does great covers! My only qualm about Acid is that they are seriously understaffed. Nonetheless, Acid is definitely the place to be.
Tip: Head on over to Acid Bar early if you're having drinks there at weekends.
Not a Ripoff
Acid bar may not have the catchiest name but never judge a book by its cover.
There was a time we went there for a birthday celebration. We were 6 people and we spent about $200. Not a rip off. We ordered the 60 shots of apple and lychee vodka. The shots are perfectly blended you don’t really taste the alcohol but 60 times of it, I bet you will be speaking French. Moreover, they serve wide range of pizzas and for cheese lovers out there, you should try the five cheese. My friends and I are amazed by that richly flavored pizza blended into one.
Acid bar is also well known for its amazing live acoustic bands. We always go there to listen to those two piece acoustic bands while finishing our cocktail drinks and enjoying our one of a kind dinner. The bands play songs that are catchy and the crowd can relate to. You can showcase your talents too if you are an audience. When I was there, an audience came up to sing and she was amazing.
I think that acid bar is a place for music lovers, food lovers and people who are looking for a hang out atmosphere.
I came for the serviettes
Strange as that sounds.
I came here with my cousin and sister on a Sunday night when we were feeling game enough for drinks. My sister was hungry so she ordered their Fish n Chips. Me and the cousin settled for cocktails and within minutes we fell in love with the place.
The fish n chips were heavenly. I don't know if it's widespread belief but I personally think that someone out there should make a religion out of eating after drinking. Nothing feels better than a steaming hot plate of fish and chips coupled with classy cocktails. I was feeling a little empty and sad after the drink and thank god for the food to balance it out.
This place has the cutest serviettes too. I have not had the chance to pass it to anyone except to my cousin heh, but it's a great pick up line to start with so, meet your dreams here!
A really nice place, I'd come back anytime.
Best of both worlds
To be honest, I visit Acid Bar not for the food or the drinks, but for the atmosphere.
It is famed amongst many for their affordable drinks that are already inclusive of GST, but like many of the reviewers, I find them a tad diluted, and don't really fancy them. What works for me however, are the musicians coming in for sets ever so often. From solo acoustic acts to punk rock bands, most successful artists have played here at one point or another.
The fact that it is located in such a central part of Singapore makes it an even more attractive destination to hang out in. I just simply love chilling with a beer with a group of friends here.
Situated opposite Orchard Central and Somerset 313, acid bar is frequented by many on friday and saturday nights. It can take a while to get seats on friday and saturday nights if you're there late. Acid bar serves relatively cheap drinks, although some would say that the drinks are a little diluted for their liking. One of the hot promotions they have is the mixture of apple and lychee shots, $60 nett for 25 shots.
One thing I like about Acid Bar is that the prices stated in the menu are already inclusive of the 10% service charge and 7% GST, so if you're splitting the bill with your friends, there would be no hassle of calculating how much each person has to pay after additional costs. Just add up what you ordered from the menu and pay!
The calamari and fries mixture comes with tartar sauce and is a delight to go with your drinks. At $15, the portion is rather huge and often leaves me craving for more. The bands that play at Acid Bar are usually open to requests so feel free to send in song requests!
Worth another visit.
I visited Acid Bar recently, and I was fortunate enough to be there during their happy hour promotions. This meant that all their drinks were only $6 nett. Their drinks menu was quite surprisingly plentiful given the relatively small size of the place. However, their snacks menu only had 8 items on it and none were really very appetizing and to be fair, they were all priced slightly higher than most other bars.
The singer, a local youth, began strumming promptly at 7. He filled the bar with his acoustic rendering of hits from Bob Marley, Aerosmith, Maroon 5, etc. Not too loud, and willing to accept requests, he certainly added to the vibrant mood at Acid.
The one gripe I have, however, was their service. Certainly under-staffed, it was plainly obvious that they were struggling to keep up with the orders flying in from the tables all over. the management should seriously look into improving this. Other than this, it was a pleasant experience at acid Bar for me.
Acid has talent
If you’re thinking locals can’t sing, then this bar might change your opinion. Showcasing talents are one of Acid bar’s key appeals with musician’s young and old taking the stage and singing the night away (although I’m sure the vast majority are not local). This bar boasts Paranakan decor although it seems more eclectic to me. Happy hour is sure to put a smile on your face with great offers on beers. A great hangout for colleagues and friends but not so much for a date as conversation becomes a guessing game because the music tends to be very loud. It fills up quickly especially after 8PM as people usually reserve tables for large numbers. If you’re absent minded, beware as the increase in the number of customers has an inverse relationship to good service – the waiters get so busy it takes them forever to get you your change or your credit card back. The alcohol and good music eases the irritation so it’ll be an enjoyable experience overall especially if you're in a big group.
Beer and Truffle fries can't go wrong!
Acid bar is one of my favourite chill-out places in town. Located beside Centrepoint Shopping Centre, this bar is easily accessible via a car or public transport.
Many good bars play here, 53A is the best in my opinion. They do covers of songs that people can dedicate. The best part of the band is that they create a very lively and fun atmosphere for birthdays!
Food wise, beer can't go wrong with truffle fries. It is said that Acid Bar serves one of the best truffle fries around! For me, it would be a couple of pints with truffle fries for boy's night out!
The service isn't fantastic, it could be due to the layout of the bar. it is so dark and cramped in the bar that it isn't surprising if the waiter or waitress didn't see you. For faster service, head straight to the bar to order and tell them where you are sitting to ensure a fun and smooth night out!.
good place to chill out with friends
I've been to acid bar twice in the last year and i do love the ambience at the place. Besides the acid bar, where seats are indoors with a live band, there's also the alley bar (literally a bar in an alley setting) and the outdoors cafe and bar right next to acid bar. The music in acid bar was very loud both times when i went, and that made it difficult to have proper conversations, especially in a big group.
There are tables that cater for small groups (3-5 people) and also tables for bigger groups (up to 10). The sofa cushions and stools are pretty comfy. The high chairs and tables not so. The bar's dimly lit, and has a cosy feel to it. It's usually very crowded on fri or sat nights but you'll definitely be able to find seats on weekday nights.
The music, though rather loud for my liking, is consistently good. When i went on a weekday, service was prompt. However, when i went on a weekend, service was rather slow and the staff are kept busy throughout the night. The staff also took quite some time to get us a table although there were tables that were empty. We had to repeatedly approach staff to finally get ourselves some seats.
Drinks at acid bar are reasonably priced. they have shots going for $60 per tray(25 shots) and pretty decent promotions for beer.
While i like the place for the music and the drinks, it would be better if it was quieter and if the service was better.
