For all ocassions
I’ve only been to the Bukit Timah Outlet on all occasions and I would say, BBBS is definitely the place for large gatherings for beer addicts. The beer towers are pretty cheap compared to other drinking places around that area and they have Indian, Western or Thai cuisine to complete your night. Albeit the high pricing of the main courses and side dishes, I am sure the cheap beer will offset your cost by the end of the night.
With pop music playing at the back and dimly lit lights, it can pass off as a place for catching up with your old friends; basking under the moonlight and soaking in the happy atmosphere of everyone around you.
Right opposite Turf City, it is easily accessible by buses that run till late to both ends of Singapore. And for drivers, there is parking space right beside the pub.
Two evenings at Bar Bar Black Sheep
I’ve made 2 trips to Bar Bar Black Sheep – one was absolutely perfect and the other rather frustrating. How so?
The first time I went to Bar Bar Black Sheep, I had walked a mile, it was hot, the air conditioning was not functioning properly, their card machine was not working and there wasn’t an ATM anywhere in sight. Needless to say, I was in a bad mood and barely tasted my food or drink.
The second time I popped over, I was in my favourite sundress, the sun was just setting, the wind was in the air and there were children playing everywhere, it was picture perfect. The bar then seemed inviting and even comforting.
From this, I learnt that atmosphere and state of mind is very important when dining. The food and drinks were good enough, just above average; I don’t remember anything spectacular about it to be honest. Would I go back again though? Yes, I would in fact, solely for the lovely atmosphere and surrounding this place.
You can drink in a park!
If you were to patronise Bar Bar Black Sheep in the evenings, you might as well be in a park. You will get to see children running around, dogs panting, people jogging and everything you expect in a park. A nice scene to be around, great atmosphere, but with a beer?
The food is nice and prices are average. I had a basket of wedges and it was nice. If you want a drink, do not go there in the evenings. Go there later at night.
I definitely will go back there to have dinner in the evening and drink later when the sky is darker.
Best Place to Chill
Bar Bar Black Sheep is a great place if you’re looking for affordable drinks and food with a great view by the river (at the Robertson Quay branch).
I always go back to this place whenever I am looking for a great place to chill. I’d recommend ordering a bottle of wine because it costs about $42 without service charge. Both the white and the red house wines are decent quality.
As for food, Bar Bar offers a variety of Thai, Western and Indian food. I really enjoyed their Fish Biriyani. It was cooked well, and there was a generous amount of fish. It was also not too rich and the portion was huge. I would recommend sharing if you do not have a big appetite.
Beer by the river, awesome chill-out place!
Ever since I went to Bar Bar Black Sheep, it always made me want to go back to grab their signature beer. Imported from Australia, Great White is my favourite beer at this bar. And my food to go along with my beer is their bruschetta. Awesome combination! The prices are decent and definitely affordable
Located at the area behind Zouk where people drink along the river, Bar Bar Black Sheep's outdoor dining boost an unique experience to riverside dining.
The bar also has a singer every weekend and that does covers for songs like other bands around Singapore. The overall experience at the bar would be very cosy and people are friendly, especially the service crew who are always there to attend to your table.
