The Chupitos Bar Hot
The Chupitos Bar is Singapore’s very first interactive shots bar. “Chupitos” means “little drinks” in Spanish, and that is what they specialize in. With over 200 innovative shooters and interactive bar performances, there will be something for everyone.

Tons of fun, the perfect way to start the night
I can’t remember a night out in Clarke Quay when at one point or another my friends and I ended up in Chupitos. From watching my friend use an innapropriate prop to take a shot on her birthday or seeing another befriending all the American tourists inside to get free drinks, each trip is always one guaranteed to make me laugh and have a good time. It’s lighthearted, the shots have funny names and you don’t have to pretend to be fancy when you’re there, just take as many Car Bomb shots as you like and have a laugh doing so.
It’s always quite crowded, and I tend to always sit outside as inside the music is quite loud and more like a club than a bar. Their service is pretty quick even when you are outside, and when it’s all got a bit too much or you’re really regretting those twin paddle pops, you can get free water inside by the bar. The menu is massive, and if you’re not looking to spend too much money, the story of my life, then the shots which come in pairs are a good way to save a bit on your night out.
You can’t stay there all night, as when you can’t sip your drink and chat there’s no point really in staying for more than 20 minutes. It’s more of a drop in, have some shots, and move on kind of bar, but that’s what it’s perfect at being. The shots that come in pairs are decently priced at $12 but the rest can be a little expensive, not really an issue though when you’re just going there for a bit of a laugh before the rest of your night.
You Look Like You Need Another Drink!
With the choice offered at Clarke Quay and the location of Chupitos, one would be forgiven if he/she can't find this shots bar. The plethora of bars, clubs and pubs works against Chupitos in that sense. However, when you do find it or stumble upon this place like my friends and I did, you'll be surprised! With neon signs to emphasise that it's a shot bar, it tries to stand out.
Firstly, their Happy Hour impresses. From 6.30pm to 9.30pm, a selection of shooters, beers and standard drinks are on offer, along with wagyu beef sliders for $6. Definitely worth it in my opinion. However, my one gripe at this point would be the lack of space and the bar's location. Although the outdoor sitting is tempting and offers the opportunity to people-watch, Singapore's heat and unpredictable weather are factors working against it. Additionally, the lack of space indoors is unsettling, considering they underwent a renovation recently.
However, these are not the selling points of the bar and I am willing to overlook them after my experience there. Firstly, looking through the menu results in chuckles and confusion in a good way. With shots such as Paddle Pop, Bandung and Milo Godzilla, we were wondering was this a bar or a Kopitiam. The creativity was evident in their shot selection and one drink that stuck out but didn't have the chance to order was the Torture Bong. Definitely one for a party! Additionally, we did not order any food for that night, a pity.
We stuck to the conventional when ordering our shots, with Kamikaze, Lychee Martini, G Spot, Sex On The Beach and Cosmopolitan tickling our taste buds. Service was prompt, with majority of the staff members having no lack of energy, the music was great and with an awesome bunch of friends to complete the experience. After the shots, it was 2 beers for everyone and it was time to make our move to the next spot. However, I won't be forgetting this place anytime soon!
One of its first
A young lady, and her friend, owns this bar and I have to say that their idea to start this is pure brilliance. It is one of the first of it's kind in Singapore and has certainly proven to be popular among the locals.
I was attracted to the wide variety of shots available at this bar. As I were with my friends, we were all so curious as to what certain flavours like the Paddlepop shot would taste like, and this curiosity led us into the shop to try some shots.
Also having just undergone major renovations, the new Chupitos Bar is finally open again, and ready to deliver shots to shots-thirsty drinkers. The new interior is modern, sleek and would only attract more business.
Its basically a shots bar which sells a variety of very unique shots. They feature the usual shots like Apple Shooters and the likes, but also offer locailzed shots like Milo Godzilla and Pandan cake. They have rainbow shots which is a few layers of colors, probably alcohols with different densities. One of my all time faves would be the Milo Godzilla! The shot glass is covered generuosly in Milo powder and filled with Baileys, vodka and Milo. It is not too sweet or strong in its alcohol taste and you would definitely be addicted to the taste!
Prices range from about $10-20. There is indoor and outdoor seating - I would recommend the outdoor as its breezier and you get to people watch at the same time. Service is prompt and friendly! Even though we were siting outside, it was easy to get a service staff's attention.
Sadly, its closed for a major revamp for now. It is apparently reopening in Jan 2013! I cant wait (:
Chuptio bar is the most unique bar I had went to. The reason being they sell almost 100 different types of colourful shots. The names of the shots were interesting, there were names like paddle pop, cotton candy etc. The price range is from 10-30. My friends and I ordered the paddle pop shots which tasted sweeter as compared to normal shots. If you are a foursquare user, you can check in and unlock a special promotion of dropshots at $8 with any purchase. To conclude, it is a good place to chill around after a long day with some shots and good music.
