I don't really get the hype about this place, especially their croissants.
My sister tried their cranberry bun and she wasn't exactly pleased, commenting that there were so many cranberries that it became too overwhelming. Generosity on ingredients is always laudable, however, if they fail to achieve the ideal balance between filling and bread, that is definitely not a good thing.
I tried their orange peel bun which sounded really tasty and artisanal with the honey infused dough and it seriously wasn't a good experience. The bread tasted like bland mush in my mouth while the orange peels tasted terribly sour.
I also tried their almond rum croissant which was flattened and squashed as I was assured that it was their bestseller. Judging by how everyone was buying it up, I even thought that perhaps great pains had been taken to make it look like it had been removed from under pile of books instead of a traditional fluffy and crunchy croissant. Anyway, my only comment is that it tasted as bad as it looked and is certainly not worth its price.
The service from the branch at Wheelock place was terrible too. Think staff who try to ignore you and treat you unkindly when you eventually get their attention.
