Better than our kueh lapis.
I practically squealed when i saw one of the outlets in town. MY BAUMKUCHENNN!~
Like, really. It was quite some time ago, when baumkuchen was the hot thing and couldn't easily be found at places like Muji which retails them now.
So after a long time i finally decided on two flavors, green tea (but of course) and sesame. i tried the green tea first, and it was pleasantly light on the tongue and not as heavy tasting as i thought it would be. This is like the Japanese's version of Kueh Lapis, just in many more flavors. This has less butter in it than kueh lapis, tastes less jerlat too, so if given a choice, Baumkuchen would be the choice for me.
