best molten chocolate cakes ever!
If you're a chocolate lover, this place is a MUST try. I have never tasted any molten chocolate lava cake as good as the one Three Inch Sin sells!
I tried the classic molten chocolate lava cake, as I didn't want any additional flavours to detract from the chocolate. It was sooooo sinful - rich, smooth, yet not too sweet, I felt like I was in chocolate heaven! At first, you might think that the serving is a tad too small, being just three inches as the shop's name suggests. However, the cake is so rich, and the chocolate flavour so robust, one is definitely more than enough for most!
Do try to go during weekdays or off-peak hours though, as the shop is quite small, and it can get rather packed.
After seeing many Instagram photos of their lava cakes, I was truly tempted to pay 3 inch sin a visit. 3 inch sin is situated at Millennia Walk near Promenade MRT.
They have food like pizza and then there's their dessert which is mainly molten cakes with a choice of icecream. I had their pizza with their extremely cheesy toppings and it was really good that my friends and I ordered a second one!
For their molten cakes, we had the original with a scoop of vanilla icecream. We thought that a 3 inch molten cake was going to be too small to fill even one stomach but we were wrong. The chocolatey sweet fudge was sinful of course, but we couldn't eat too much of it. I would recommend two to share one.
Their other desserts looked extremely tempting but we were too full to try. Definitely going back to indulge myself! As good as the food is, their location is extremely small and so it was very crammed. There is a very narrow path to walk so be careful. Their service wasn't exceptionally great but nothing to complain about :)
Do give this place a try!
The first time I read the name of the shop, I was quite amused and had a rather risque interpretation of what it meant. But I guess I better not explain here what I think it means. Hehe.
I tried some mint chocolate lava cake and it was accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Being the crazy fanatics about mint desserts that we were, my friend and I got ourselves a seat immediately and asked for that last cake to be served. We were so lucky.
But our first bite revealed immediately that barely a hint of mint was detectable, for the chocolate was overpoweringly rich (or perhaps the mint was simply underwhelmingly weak). My friend was somewhat disappointed but I wasn't. I guess the chocolatey goodness of it all, accompanied by some really good vanilla, more than made up for the lack of mint. The chocolate was one thing to rave about, but so was the vanilla ice cream. It was obvious that they used real vanilla and not some artificial crap; I could see tiny black dots in the ice cream, which meant that it was not made from artificial extract but from a real vanilla pod. Real vanilla and pure, rich, chocolate goodness -- that's a heavenly match.
I don't kid when I say that you MUST try the molten cake from 3 INCH SIN!!! I specially created this listing because more people have to get to know about this relatively obscure cafe. I was very disappointed to learn that the outlet at Cluny Court was closed, but I want to keep the one and only shop left alive with good business!!!
Each time I've visited the shop, I have always eaten the molten cake and gone home to rave about it to my friends and family. Those that I went with have become converts like me! These specialty creations come in assorted flavours such as raspberry, peanut butter, lemon, hazelnut, coffee, baileys, etc., sure to cater to all with a sweet tooth. They also come in original flavour if you just want good old reliable (plain) chocolate.
I personally like the mint one a lot - imagine a warm chocolate cake that when you dig your fork into, oozes out refreshing minty lava chocolate. Eating it alone is good enough for me, but the menu recommends eating it with ice cream. Whatever it is, it just tastes like perfection :)
chocolate molten cakes are DA BEST
I’ve long heard of 3-inch sins but have never walked past their shop. I happen to pop by the shop last Friday at their Millennia Walk outlet. The shop has really small seating area with a capacity of approx 15 or so. As the shop was closing, it was rather vacant.
If you’re looking for some coffee and desserts place which is aesthetically made up with nice ambience, 3 inch sins may not be your cup of tea. 3 inch sins has a very simple and plain design in its furniture and decorations. Their walls are white in colour with some wall decals of words and a few IKEA photo frames on the wall.
Of course, I had to order their most popular item which is the chocolate molten cake and topped it up with a vanilla ice cream. It cost around $10. Price wise, nothing much to complain since there are much more expensive molten cake elsewhere. I would not recommend anyone to devour this molten cake alone. Yes, it may look small but, it can make you feel so stuffed and overly sweet! I would prefer them to give a bigger serving of ice cream to go with the molten cake. I’ve finished all my ice cream but still had half the molten cake left! That aside, there is also a sign board outside the store which says that they sell Papa Palheta coffee! I heard raves about Papa Palheta cafe! If Papa Palheta cafe is too inconvenient or inaccessible for you, you may want to try it out at 3 inch sins.
