My favourite shoe shop!
I always get my shoes from Pedro. It started a few years ago when we randomly walked in one of their stores. Chloe wanted to buy me my xmas present but we both agreed that year we would not be buying extravagant gifts for each other, and limiting our budget to about $150 each.
In the end she bought me a pair of white loafers on sale, for about $90. Their designs look current and elegant and I've since returned time and again to get my shoes (and even slippers!) here. The last time I was back there, I picked out a pair of white loafers. It turned out it was exactly the same as the one I was wearing! I believe it was even more expensive. I just did not realize it until she pointed it out as I don't really take good care of my shoes and the vibrant color had faded.
For people like me who have to replace their shoes every now and then - I guess Pedro is one of the best shops for affordable and good looking shoes, that will probably last well if you take care of them.
Elegant And Fashionable Shoes
Pedro is a well-known global fashion brand that sells footwear consisting of formal shoes and casual shoes, as well as accessories like belts, bags and wallets for both men and women. As a brand, Pedro can be considered an upper mid-range / low-end high-range brand, with a recognized brand name, and prices that are still affordable for most, but definitely isn't considered a luxury brand.
I like the modern and elegant look that most of the footwear, or shoes, sold by Pedro have. Designs are quite stylish and eye-catching, with a blend of classic and contemporary styles, and the range is quite extensive. Pedro updates their designs according to the fashion seasons, and old designs are phased out rather quickly over 6 months or so. Some of their designs can be rather bold and loud though.
Pedro shoes / footwear is rather comfortable, and I never had any discomfort wearing either the formal business shoes or the casual shoes. The durability of Pedro shoes is quite lasting as well, with formal business shoes lasting about 6 - 12 months, and casual shoes lasting about 12 - 18 months. The first thing to wear down on Pedro footwear is generally the sole.
Because of the brand name and quality, Pedro footwear isn't cheap. For men, formal business shoes cost around SGD $100 - $200, while casual shoes cost around SGD $90 - $180. If you spend at least SGD $200 in 1 reciept, you can opt to sign up for Pedro membership, which will give you discounts on subsequent purchases.
The Pedro belt collection for men is rather limited, but the few designs they have are quite attractive and eye-catching. A belt from Pedro lasts around 1 year plus or so, and costs around SGD $70 - $130. Personally, I prefer their formal business belts, in a black colour, with a solid square buckle and catch.
Will possibly try out Pedro bags and wallets sometime!
Charles & Keith for Guys - Is it owned by the same company?
Shoes for both guys and girls are stylish, and affordable with shoes for guys ranging around $80 - $100 and shoes for the ladies at a slightly cheaper rate. The bad thing about this place that it is overly patronized by the guys and the guy-range doesn't change much over the seasons. There are classic designs that remain in the store for years.
Service wise, the staff greets and attends to you with a smile and promptly - A huge plus!
One quick tip is to make use of the sale season which is quite often and designs of the shoes doesn't really change much anyway.
I visited the Pedro outlet at Plaza Singapura last year and I must say, I was impressed by their service. I expect good service wherever I am, and more so when I'm shopping. The sales staff acknowledged me warmly, but didn't overwhelm me like other sales assistants usually do. They let me browse, subtly explaining the ones I picked and were very energetic in helping me try on my shoes. The prices are very affordable and their collections are revised each season.
I find Pedro to be one of the "run-to" shops to get a quick fashion fix without burning bucks!
Pedro might just become like Charles and Keith in the next few years, but lets savour the moment now for any proud owners of pedro shoes. They are really in the front seat now.
I have a few business shoes from pedro, and i have to say they are very robust despite its sleek and slender designs. The shoes cost around the 100+ range and I see no issue in buying them, as long as they last me a long time. So far, my shoes have lasted me a year and after a good polish, they look as good as new!
Pedro is not a shoe that will leave blisters or require some time for you to break them in, they are simply an up and rising footwear brand that will impress people of all ages.
Comfortable and Classy Shoes
Don't know what to wear for work or for gatherings? Where to find comfortable and durable shoes? Pedro is definitely a wise choice. Looking at the design of their shoes, their target age group is around 17 to 45, males. I personally bought 2 pair, The first pair was 5 years and while the second pair was 3 years. They are still durable and can be worn. The design still look like as if it's brand new.
Service wise is slightly beyond average. There was once I wanted to purchase the design but there was no available size in the outlet. He immediately took the initiative to call other outlets and requested them to reserve the pair of shoe for me.
Looking for a pair of chic shoe? Pedro is the answer to your prayers
Pedro, the sister brand of Charles & Keith, sells mainly shoes and bags for both men and women. Unlike Charles & Keith, Pedro is targeted at a slightly above mid range market. Their shoes range from SGD$69.90 for a pair of sandals to over SGD$100+ for a pair of heels.
By one glance at the designs of their shoes, one should know that Pedro is skewed towards the sleek, sophisticated and modern look. Even for a pair of sandals, it gives off this formal and corporate look – usually patented.
Personally, Pedro is an ideal place for both men and women to find affordable shoes suitable for working or formal events. Though their focal seems to be on their shoes, Pedro does have a good range of bags and clutches for wok. Their bags are mostly in structured shape as opposed to slouchy big bags for causal wear. It may be good to note that most of the time; there may be a Pedro shop nearby whenever you spot a Charles & Keith!
Comfort level wise, their sandals, pumps and platform heels (those with thick platform right below your toes) are good. Try to avoid those strappy heels which can cause really bad blisters near your toes.
Being the obsessive shoe shopper that I am due to my large feet, Pedro is a perfect place for me to shop. Pedro usually boasts a wide collection of classy heels perfect for a night out. It’s such a pity my feet can’t last walking in 3 inch heels even for an hour or so. Nonetheless, I often buy pumps or sandals from Pedro. Their designs are very classy and new. And their shoes, often come in nice colours that are easy to match which often leaves you in a fix as to which colour to settle for.
Price-wise, I used to think Pedro was a very exclusive, high-end retailer. But, I must say I would’t mind spending about $30 for pumps if the quality lasts longer. I would think Pedro prices are slightly comparable to upcoming homegrown brand, Charles & Keith.
Apart from shoes, Pedro also has handbags. I have yet to buy myself a bag from Pedro but their designs are definitely worth taking a look at.
Pedro also caters for guys from fashionable formal shoes to casual sandals which look so comfortable. Also, their wallets and belt look so sleek. Pedro will be a perfect option for if you’re shopping for a male.
nice designs at a higher price point
Pedro offers good quality footwear with unique designs that are not commonly found outside. The designs are mostly flamboyant and loud. Something that you want to get if you are looking to make a fashion statement. Nothing for the plain Jane here. Price wise, it is higher than Charles & Keith (everyone is more or less familiar with their prices) and a sandal can easily cost you $50 or more. Pedro makes footwear for both genders and their leather shoes for the male looked promising, something that you definitely want to invest in should you need a pair to complete your formal outfit.
Female wise, there is a great range of killer heels, normal walking heels, flats and sandals. You won't find anything too plain in here. Everything would be embellished with faux jewels, suede tassels, reptile skin... you get the idea. Heels can easily go up to 3 digits. I would recommend going to the outlet store at Anchorpoint. Although the shoes there are from past seasons, you can save up to 70% there! They also have sunglasses and belts for sale. The sale assistants at Anchorpoint are also really friendly and approachable.
Happy with purchase, not so happy with the service
I went into Pedro expecting good customer service, seeing that Pedro is quite a “high-end” shoe boutique. Boy was I disappointed.
I was browsing through the racks, looking for a new pair of heels. I picked out a display which I was keen on getting. There was 2 staffs on duty, yet neither of them came to offer me their assistance. They were ignoring me throughout despite catching their eye contact. I went to the counter seeking for help, and the staff gave me the blackest look I’ve ever seen. She just took the heel I had on hand, and stomp off into the store room. She returned a while later and just shoved the heels at me, and left me yet again. Please do bear in mind there was no one else in the store at that time, so I am not sure what she was busy with to the point she cannot attend to me.
The weird thing was, the atmosphere changed when I walked up to her (again) and told her I am confirming my purchase. Her behavior immediately changed, and became super nice. She even offered to paste the sole sticker for me.
Why this kind of service towards your customers? I am highly disappointed with their service, and the different kind of treatments I get only after I confirmed a purchase.
Makes me think twice before making yet another purchase from Pedro, although I do adore their shoes very much.
