From flip flops to sandals to heels, a wide range of shoes to select from at Rubi Shoes. What I like about Rubi Shoes would be, they have shoes in basic colours and simple designs. Of course, they have got shoes with fancy designs too. In the stores in Singapore, it is not easy to find shoes in just one colour and no additional designs. Not to mention, affordable ones too.
Though I have to say, aside from promotions and discounts, their shoes can be a little pricier for the quality you get. If you are looking for a pair of shoes for your everyday wear, a pair from Rubi would probably wear out faster than you expect.
The insoles of some of their flats do not offer much cushioning. If you are looking at walking a distance or standing for long hours, these shoes will not provide good support and cushioning as their insoles are rather thin. Your feet might hurt.
Look out for promotions or sale; they do have regular promotional items and sale periods. Prices go as low as S$5 per pair or sometimes more. I would say, there are other better alternatives in the market if you are looking for quality shoes.
For people who simply want to be as close to the ground as possible and yet look trendy at the same time, go for Rubi! Rubi offer a wide variety of flats and slippers fit for people of all sizes. These flats and flip flops are often the 'in' thing for the designs are plain, clean and simple. Just what everyone needs from this hectic life of ours. On top of that, the price of these shoes are quite economical too!
On the downside, these shoes does not last long. Using only glue to secure the pieces of materials together, it's kind of expected. With only 3 layers of materials glued together, these flats are too flat for some. While for others, like myself, who love to give a shoe fashion show for the world to see, having shoe rack filled with rainbow colour Rubi shoes is not uncommon.
Do note: Rubi shoes are not made to last. They are more for show. Do venture elsewhere for more sturdy shoes if not.. Hello Fashionista!
When I first stepped into Rubi, I was so excited by the wide array and variety of shoes at the shop. The shoes were displayed in various colours and designs, and it seemed like a shoes lover's paradise.
The prices of the shoes are also quite cheap too, from around $10 a pair to $30 for two pairs. The shop seems to be very popular too, judging by the constant crowds there every time I visit the shop.
However, the quality of the shoes are horrible! I've bought a few pairs of shoes, but none of them have lasted me more than a couple of weeks! Either the strap breaks or the soles spoil. I'm so disappointed in the quality of the shoes, but I guess you really get what you pay for. So if you're looking for fashionable and long-lasting shoes, I suggest you go somewhere else.
Rubi's shoes consist of the latest, trendiest designs, and paired with its relatively cheap price, is its greatest selling factor. But there's a reason for the low prices. I've bought Rubi shoes once or twice and its quality is horrendous. They tear very easily, and it feels like you're walking in flimsy fabric. Shoes at Rubi are not meant to be worn anymore than a few months. It isn't able to protect your feet well; I've gotten blisters on my feet from wearing their shoes.
My honest opinion is that Rubi's shoes are not worth buying. It may be cheap but the quality even falls short of their prices. They have nice designs, but really need to work on the durability of their shoes.
A heaven for budget barbies. Think wide range, varied colours and cheap prices all at Rubi.
The caveat: low quality shoes that will less likely survive through a heavy downpour, let alone follow you to your grave. That being said, Rubi shoes are rather comfortable, the designs are simple and can match any outfit that you don. hence, if you are looking for variety at low prices over quality, Rubi shoes will more than exceed your wishes. My one pet peeve as a frequent lone shopper though, is that Rubi often dishes out pair offers (eg buy 2 for $30). There are just so many non-rain resistant shoes that I need.
The first time I bought from Rubi was a pair of simple black flats that was sold for $10. It is uncomfortable at first and then felt okay after that. But because of the design and possibly because it is $10, the sole is ridiculously thin and wore off after a few months, I think lasting for a few months is already a miracle. It is no longer in production now though.
I have actually bought a pair of wedges from Rubi as well, painful, really. I don't know if it is just me or that is just how it is. Rubi shoes are getting worse in my opinion, in terms of design. Of course tastes on shoes varies from people to people. Rubi shoes are cheap when it is on discount so if you want to get something cheap or shoes that are not worn often, you can try Rubi. But if it is a everyday kinda shoes, I would encourage you to buy from better brands.
Rubi sells fashionable, good-looking shoes, that unfortunately, are of poor quality. Cheap, light and fashionable, I used to buy their shoes a lot. However, the shoes spoil really quickly and they give me painful blisters.
The shoes are usually sold at two pairs for thirty, one pair of shoes at the average price of fifteen dollars. For that kind of quality, it isn't very cheap, just fairly reasonable.
The service offered, on the other hand, is great! The sales assistants are very friendly and ready to help if you need any assistance.
Despite this store selling rather affordable shoes, this store is indeed not worth the money spent. I managed to purchase 2 beautiful looking flats for 30 dollars over the weekend. However, within an hour of walking, I could not take it anymore. The shoes were giving me terrible blisters, and it was far too painful for me to continue walking on.
This was definitely a poor buy that I have regretted spending on. To me, quality takes precedence over quantity; it would have probably been more worth to purchase a more comfortable pair of shoes that could have lasted me for months, instead of a few hours. Never will I recommend anyone to purchase shoes from there.
Girls, admit it, we all love shoes but shoes are horribly expensive these days . Rubi shoes are an affordable alternative with some shoes having a price with only 1 digit. The designs offered by Rubi shoes are not entirely pleasing, but acceptable given the price. Rubi shoes allow for the budget conscious to indulge at least for a little while. I say a little while because the quality of the shoes are bad, and a little while is probably how long your shoe is going to last you.
I would say, skip Rubi, save up a little and buy a better quality pair of shoe.
What more can you expect with canvas shoes going at only $10 and wedges going at as cheap as $15 per pair? What you pay is what you get. So don't expect a pair to last you a few months! But of course, it's a cheaper alternative to fashionable shoes. However, it seems that due to its product being really affordable and fashionable at the same time, it is easy to spot someone wearing the same shoe when walking around streets.
I've seen and bought slippers as cheap as $1 and sandals at $2, but be prepared to squeeze with the crowd during their sales period. Shoes will be thrown everywhere, making it difficult to actually try on the shoes. The downside is that most of its outlets doesn't provide chairs/sofas for you to sit to try on the shoes.
Nevertheless, it is still a great place to get trendy shoes at a low price, but it is definitely not a good place for those who goes for quality shoes.
