For my daughter
My daughter loved going into accessory shop and my wife would always obliged her and accompany her. I would then be tasked to look after my two boys. Initially, I let the boys stayed in the shop and let them looked around at the girly stuff. Some days, they may be getting presents for their girl friends so they better stand knowing the products earlier.
But when I found them playfully trying on hair clips and looking at themselves in the mirror with the hair clip on, I got worried. I don't want them growing up to have the wrong orientation. So now, whenever my wife and daughter visited the accessory shops, I would bring my boys to see more manly stuffs. My wife and daughter seldom come out from this shop empty-handed, I was not the one paying but knowing my wife, the items should not be too costly.
Mini.bits has some really cute accessories from Korea. Ranging from jewellery, hair accessories such as hair clips and head bands, certain outlets also stock handphone related products. However, their prices for certain products can be a bit high, and overpriced for it as it belies the actual product which appears cheaper than it really is. Fortunately, I managed to be there during a sales period, where I purchased a woven headband for only $9, if I recall correctly.
I usually have problems with headbands, as I would have a headache wearing them. However, mini bits' headbands are comfortable to use, and have lovely designs in various colours. Their products appeal to those who are girly and who like to indulge in their feminine side.
Mini Bits sells pretty hair accesories, earrings and necklaces. It also sells rings! Basically, it sells a wide variety of accessories. It is especially thriling for a girly girl like me to go around being awed by the pretty accesorries. However, because the prices seem a little expensive, I have not bought anything from there before. But since the shop sells such girly pretty stuff, I guess it is very easy to get a gift for such girls and probably young kids from there (practical yet pretty).
Cute, but too pricey.
Not being a huge fan of accesories, I'm pretty hard up when it comes to actually purchasing them. I mean, I like looking at them, but that's about it. So, on the few times I went to mini.bits, it's mainly cause the store looks so cute, and so does their accesories.
But I would definitely not pay what, $15 for a simple necklace? I could get prettier necklaces for a lower price, thank you very much. Unless they have a massive sale, I doubt I'll ever purchase anything from them.
The staff there is generally polite, but sometimes it can get quite annoying when they follow you with their eyes. Then again, guess they're just doing their job.
Pretty, but not necessarily trendy
Mini Bits attempts to be trendy, but the accessories that they sell just aren't tasteful no matter how hard they try, and can probably appeal only to preteens.
Mini Bits generally sells pendants and bracelets with cute little silver charms that hardly anyone above the age of 16 would purchase. There is no doubt that Mini Bits is one of the most affordable established accessories shop in Singapore, however, that fact is constantly overlooked because the accessories at Mini Bits fail to catch the attention of most shoppers, perhaps with the only exception of preteens.
My friends and I tend to skip over Mini Bits completely whenever we go shopping, as despite the shop's girly interior, the accessories on display already give a good indication of what the store is generally like - cheap, plain and probably made in China.
I have on one occasion, bought a set of pastel coloured hair clips from Mini Bits. The price was definitely decent but unfortunately, the quality wasn't. The set of hair clips rusted in probably only a mere two or three month's time. And I had hardly worn them. Perhaps I got a bad batch, or the quality at Mini Bits is just not up to standard.
The accessories at Mini Bits are definitely cheap though, and would probably make good gifts for preteens with awfully short attention spans.
Girly, pretty products
Mini Bits Korea is not your typical accessory shop as it sells a more premium range of accessories targeted at the younger crowd. Because of their imported products, the prices do tend to be higher, but some of the designs are definitely worth the price!
I especially like their range of rings, which have yet to be rivaled by other accessory shops in my opinion. I love how the design is creative, and the rings are often ornamented with a little flower or star, not too much, with just the right adornment. Their necklaces are more typical, sometimes a simple star or heart dangling from a silver chain can cost around $8. In such cases, I do not thing it is worth the price.
Jewellery aside, the hair bands are also unique and very pretty, more suitable for the girly types. However, the prices are definitely high for a simple accessory such as the hair band. Even the hair ties are not worth buying from here. You can get similarly pretty hairt ies from regular accessory shops.
All in all, I do feel that Mini Bits is a good place to get gifts for your girlfriends because the products are of good quality and are priced lower than high-end jewellery shops.
I've never bought anything from Mini.Bits but they sell really adorable hair accessories for the little young girls. However, they are just way too over-rated. It's way too pricey to act as a gift for the pre-teen girls. But I do not deny that their accessories are really the kind that girly girls would like it. Majority of their accessories are pink and 'bling bling', which are really the type that sweet girls would look out for. However, it's just not worth the price. You can also get similar cute accessories from other random hair accessories stores.
Affordable glitz for pre-teens
The store mainly caters to the younger crowd, with gaudy little baubles and trinkets that appeal more to pre-teens. The accessories there are plain and simple. They mainly sell delicate charm bracelets and pendants. They sell a variety of silver pendants with different charms.
The service there has been impeccable on my visits though. The store attendants are friendly and helpful, a refreshing change from the sullen or overly pushy ones I often encounter in other stores.
The products there are also considerably less expensive than those at stores such as Diva or Accessorize, which is a plus point. However, the accessories at mini.bits are also notably less trendy and stylish than those that can be found at other places.
The store is worth a visit if you are looking for a gift for a girl below the age of 12.
Shiny, Gaudy blings
This store is full of useless, cheap, shiny things meant for girls aged 10 and below. Seriously, the things they put up on the shelves are unattractive, and not cheap either.
Items usually fall in the range of costume jewelry, from hair ties to earrings. Their items easily tarnish or break apart, and the items here aren't exactly the trendiest on the market either. Probably items that you'd buy, use once, and then leave in a corner to rot. The store is actually from the same company that owns mini toons, yet another store that is a complete waste of shop space. Still, I suppose that they have their own loyal following of customers, given that they are still around after so long.
Big prices for mini bits
$10 for 3 headbands.
I don't know what that means to you, but that screams to me - get out of this store. And most times, my instincts aren't too bad.
Everything here looks pretty and tempting but it is nothing at all you need. There was once when they tried to catch up with the times by selling pseudo-collars but even that didn't do anything to increase their human traffic. The customers here always walk past after a first look and the staff aren't eager to serve either, they're always stocking up on things that aren't even selling so I don't understand.
A store soon to be replaced.
