Cute but poor quality!
I have a confession to make. I used to adore Diva. It was the only place I'd get my earrings from. I would also get my friends birthday gifts from there because they had really cute necklaces and ear studs but now...I hate it.
I realised how their items are of super low quality and that for such a quality, they're overpriced. A set of earrings cost about $13 average which means one pair costs about $4. That is so expensive for something that gets rusty and spoils easily!
I must admit though, I still get enticed by the splash of colours that permeate from Diva stores. I usually go in to admire the accessories and then proceed to get annoyed by their sales staff who keep pestering me to take their mini baskets. That's their job, I know but if I say no thank you stop shoving the basket in my face!
Overall, they're just not worth it anymore.
Trendy but expensive
DIva sells fashionable accessories which attracts many ladies, however I always thought that the price is high, for the quality. A small simple piece can buy something else of higher value, so I never understand how and why people pump in those money into it.
It is a good place for window shopping with friends to just chill, have fun and look around, and possibly an occasional buy when they have a sale. Some of their sale items are good buys as the price sometimes get pretty low and if you look hard enough, you would probably find something cute.
You dont feel like a diva wearing their accessories
I am not impressed by their quality. The necklaces/braclets are plated poorly and hence lose colour and 'rust' when exposed to water or even just bits of sweat when we are outside in sunny singapore. Hence, this really cheapens the look of accessories. I have to admit though that they have a wide selection of accessories that are thoughtfully displayed and classified according to themes like 'party rock', 'princess' and colour schemes. But i still do not recommend it, i rather pay a little bit more for a more 'higher quality' accessories as they speak a thousand words to a girls outfit
cute accessories but pricey
I somehow always end up at diva subconsciously doing some window shopping. i guess its the hot pink banner. i like how the accessories are always arranged according to colours or themes. Needless to say, i gravitate towards the pink rack first.
I always find a few things i like and dread looking at the price tag at the back. While you might get a good find occasionally, most of the items are unreasonably priced given the fact that diva isn't exactly a brand powerhouse.
Do check out the discount rack though. Sure to find something cute that wouldn't burn a hole in your pocket.
Not worth your money
Diva is definitely worth a visit; but only if you are window shopping. Yes, they sell amazing accessories; but the price is just way too unreasonable (in fact, over the top).
I would recommend going to other shops like Aries instead. They sell accessories similar to Diva, but at much lower prices. So, unless you have a loose budget, do not buy Diva’s product; I cannot reiterate that enough.
Nevertheless, that having said, Diva’s products are still worth a look. Their accessories are more of funky/trendy and definitely colourful. They sell hair and fashion accessories like necklaces, hair bands etc. Personally, I would say they are suited more for gifts than for personal usage – they have necklaces for best friends!
Their products are catered for the younger generation – teenagers; because they are bright and loud. With regards to quality; it definitely isn’t top notch. My hair bands broke after a few times (it isn’t as if my head is bigger than the average), and the design on them started to fade off after a while.
That having said, when their items go on sale or they have promotions; go for it. They can sell 5 hair bands for around $9 and have pretty designs; quality however, not assured.
Definitely not worth the amount that you're paying for!
What attracted me to this store would be the categories of accessories they have in store. They have categorized their accessories into themes, for instance, nature or even BFF accessories. I love the charms on their BFF bracelets and necklaces and they have really unique designs.
What deterred me from getting my accessories from Diva was that the quality of their accessories isn’t worth the price you are paying for. I chanced upon a shelf of earrings in the store and while flipping through the earrings on display, I saw that there are actually missing ‘gems’ on the earrings. It gives us an impression that they do not really check their products whether if they are in good condition before putting on display. I am sure you can get similar designs in other accessories stores much cheaper than the price you’re paying for at Diva.
Best to get them during Sales period, where the accessories would usually go really low- as low as $3!
Don't buy them
Some of their accessories appear as if bits and pieces are cobbled together. Although, some of their designs are pretty cute. I once saw a paper clip necklace.
I remember friendship bracelets were "in" back then. However, instead of bracelets, my friends and I bought necklaces instead. Within a year, the colours faded. One thing I realized about Diva is that their necklaces get tarnished very easily, which is a major issue.
The store definitely pales in comparison to Mini Bits and Helen. In terms of everything-from design to quality to service. Speaking of service, all shop assistants have the tendency to follow customers around. It's very uncomfortable, not to mention, awkward.
But, the bangles are worth a look. Most of them are suitable for different occasions such as casual or party wear.
A small, brightly lit shop with lots of pretty accessories to feast your eyes on, Diva is not difficult to miss. Although visually appealing, my experience with its products is that they are not quality goods and get damaged easily. Also, they are quite pricey when they don't have promotions going on.
Most of my necklaces, rings, bracelets and earrings have either faded in colour or tarnished in a short period of time. And I try very hard not to let them come into contact with water. But in a country so warm like Singapore, its difficult to keep accessories dry as perspiration will always come in contact with them. I've also had a very disappointing encounter of a necklace falling apart because it was too heavy and the parts holding the necklace together were not strong enough. That was just after wearing it twice. I ended up having to fix the necklace on my own. For its level of quality, I definitely do not think the prices are worth it.
Although its staff are generally polite and friendly, they keep hanging around you and sometimes follow you around the store, hovering behind. It can get a little frustrating especially when they try to promote every single piece of item they think has caught your eye. For people who prefer to be left alone to shop in peace, this can be quite a bother. I don't blame them; they're probably just doing their job but this is one reason I always leave after giving a quick browse.
All that said, during their sale periods you might be able to find a good deal or two. My advice would be to void the gold and silver plated items as they will definitely lose its visual appeal in time.
Cute, but kitsch
I used to love Diva accessories when I was 15 or 16, but as I grew older, my tastes changed and recently, I have gone more for quality rather than quantity.
Diva is cute and spunky, pink and girly, and its accessories can be divided into an array of categories. Each piece can transform you into a rock chick, a glamorous diva, a sparkly princess, a Tribeca hippie or a bohemian islander. The best part about Diva is definitely the sales. With pieces going for no more than 9 dollars, girls and women alike are sure to flock to this store for their accessory fix.
However, the quality of Diva's accessories is sub-par. Rings tarnish within a few wears or with immediate contact with water or sweat, and basically all their gold or silver-plated accessories fade in shine after a while as well. I would much rather purchase jewelry from high street labels like Topshop or River Island during their sales rather than from a Diva sale as I know the quality from the former stores will be slightly better than Diva's.
I used to come out of the store with many new accessories in tow. Now, I come out of the store with merely a pair of earrings or two. Something that wouldn't tarnish as much.
Diva is like an accessories paradise for girls of all age. Walked in the store and you don’t know where to set your eyes on as there are just too many gorgeous pieces that you want to look at. An avid fan of accessories, I always stay inside the store for at least 30 minutes to pick up a new accessory to add on to my personal collection(oops!) Diva makes it easy for shopper by separating their products into different themes/colours so that you can save some time if you’re looking for a specific look/colour. The sales assistants are all warm and polite as they recommend and give you their opinion if you’re spoilt for choice:)
