Sleep? I'd rather eat.
Contrary to it's name, Quality Hotel is in fact not of high-quality, except for its Vegetarian Buffet. Before one steps into the hotel, he or she would be quite disappointed by the outer decor of the building. Greying walls and peeling paints are simply a sore to the eyes.
The rooms are, regrettably, just as appalling. Apart from the small room size, the bed sheets appear yellow and old, as if having had been used for more than a decade - after all, Quality hotel was set up more than a decade ago!
Luckily, the food at the Vegetarian Buffet are unexpectedly mouth-watering and highly affordable. Though I did not go back for another stay at Quality Hotel, I did make numerous trips to dine at the Vegetarian Buffet.
Although it is stated as Quality Hotel, there is not much quality to the rooms. The rooms itself are not very spacious, given that it is a 4 star hotel. The rooms are just slightly bigger than the superior rooms of budget hotels, which are much cheaper. The rooms itself look outdated and old, and i think there is a need for them to start doing some refurbishment. Their bed lamps still uses the old type of design and the furniture look worn. I did see some pictures of rooms that look more pretty before i make my booking, maybe i am just unlucky to get a room that has not been refurbished yet.
The bed itself was hard and not comfortable for sleep. Pillows were also too soft. To add on, the bedsheets make my body itch throughout the night as well.Make up room service was disappointing, as during my stay, the room was not make up although i asked for it. And to get new supplies of water and toothbrushes, i still had to make calls to get them and had to wait for a long while to get it.
But to be fair to them, at least there is a good teochew porridge buffet available during the night which serves a large spread of ingredients for the porridge and the price is cheap. That's probably the only plus point.
