Situated along the Singapore river, upstream from Clarke Quay and Boat Quay, near Chinatown. Minutes' away from the Central Business District and Orchard Road. 10 minutes drive to World Trade Centre, Suntec Convention Centre and Marina area. The hotel is a little off the beaten path, for the fit tourist, being upriver from the night scene at boat and Clarke Quay, however, they are a very decent hotel for groups and fit clients who want to be close to the hustle and bustle but not within it. Hotel provides complimentary shuttle service to Orchard Road and Chinatown. sg 03/08. A bit dated, it is typical of a modern hotel structure from the 80's, with large glass windows and tower block design. Large and bright lobby, a Jade Chinese Junk sculpture sits on one side of the lobby. The lobby lounge is next to the reception and it could be of use as waiting lounge for group check-in. The old rooms come in an earth hue with somewhat dated furniture although well kept. Most of the rooms are newly renovated and the new rooms are of modern contemporary setting. The rooms are in combination of beige and brown colour with bronze curtain and bed cover. A 26-inch Plasma TV nicely boxes up within the brown and beige feature wall, giving the room more space to move around. The rooms are equipped with wire internet TV and wireless broadband access. The white bathroom is spacious and it comes with a long bathtub. You could enjoy local and western favorites at the 24 hour coffee house, where there is an indoor and al fresco area. There is a Japanese restaurant serving reasonably price authentic Japanese food and a Chinese restaurant with an authentic Chinese ambience. 1 km to the nearest station (tanjong pagar railway station), 10 km to the nearest fair site (suntec convention/world trade), 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station (outram), 2 kms to city centre, 21 kms to the nearest airport (changi).

5 Star Service In This 4 Star Hotel

I've recently completed running a workshop here at the Riverview Hotel. While the choice of location was decided by my company, I'm glad they decided to hold the workshop here. Having already dined at 2 of their 3 restaurants, I already had a good impression of the Riverview Hotel. My experience running the workshop here actually improved my impression of their service!

The Riverview Hotel has an excellent location, with scenic views of the Singapore River, and relatively close to the nearby watering holes of Mohamed Sultan. Rooms at the Riverview Hotel are clean and neat, and staff ensure that the facilities are well maintained. Room rates per night are relatively reasonable, with prices starting at SGD $180 per night for the most basic room, and going up to SGD $700 per night for the best suite.

The facilities at Riverview Hotel are pretty good too, and include a swimming pool, gym, a business centre, free wi-fi in the rooms, laundry service, postal service, a gift shop, 3 restaurants, currency exchange service, concierge service, and even a 24 hours medical care service!

Most of our time was spent in the function rooms. The Riverview Hotel has 6 ballrooms, all of which has projectors and an audio system, and also includes flipcharts, markers, sweets and water. A meeting package starts at SGD $1200 for 1 ballroom over 1 full day, and going all the way up to SGD $7000 for 1 ballroom over 1 full day.

Dining options are plentiful at Riverview Hotel, and all come highly recommended. The River Garden Coffee House offers an international western and asian buffet, waterfront dining, a beer garden, and is open 24 hours a day. Or dine at the classy River Palace, a chinese restaurant that offers zi char dishes on an ala carte buffet style. The Irodori Japanese Restaurant offers japanese food and fresh seafood ala carte buffet style as well. Finally, chill out and drink at the Jade Lounge, which features live music.

Service at the Riverview Hotel is top notch! Throughout our workshop, we bothered the staff many times with various requests, but they helped us out quickly and with a smile! And whenever you dine at any of the restaurants, staff will greet you, and also ensure that you're enjoying your meal. We always felt like we were well taken care of by the staff, and everything that we needed to run the workshop successfully was provided for us.

We gave all the staff who assisted us appreciation gifts at the conclusion of our workshop. Apparently, the excellent service culture here stems from a 'family-oriented' workplace culture that the management put in place. Because of this excellent service I've experienced, I highly recommend the Riverview Hotel for an afforable stay or business meeting!

Comfortable stay

When i first reached Riverview Hotel, i was thinking the exterior of the hotel was rather old and i wondered if the rooms would be up to my expectation. When i first reach the main lobby, i was captivated by the jade chinese junkie displayed and it was magnificent. As i checked into the hotel, the counter staff were very polite and the check in was a breeze. They also accommodate my request to give me a river view room. Although the room furnishing give the impression of an hotel with a long history, i am glad to say that everything was in working condition, and the bed was comfortable and spacious. During breakfast the next day, as my booking did not include breakfast, we asked the staff if we could take a look before eating. Our request was accepted and we were happy that we went in instead of going to Tiong Bahru Market to eat. The buffet breakfast was a big spread of about 3 to 4 counters worth of choices, and it was a sumptuous breakfast. Overall it was a good stay, but i still preferred if i was able to connect my laptop to the TV to watch my movies.
