Nice modern looking facade
Parc Sovereign was a really nicely designed hotel. From the exterior when you looked at it, the hotel looked like a futuristic metal building. Well, it does sometimes looked more like a shopping mall design. I remembered that when I went down, I was very pleased with the service provided by the staff. I actually checked in pretty late and for some reason the cheaper room that I had booked was no longer available. Without me asking for it, the staff immediately upgraded my room and I was pleasantly appeased.
The room itself was pretty decent. Furnishings in it were really new and modern looking. Well, not that I really need to use all the accessories or furnishings they provided, but it does still feel good after paying a sum close to $200 for a night.
The biggest advantage and also disadvantage for this hotel is its location. It is conveniently located near Bugis area, so it is really close to areas like Orchard, Bugis and Little India. But I felt that the price was also more expensive than necessary due to its location. There was a complimentary breakfast included at the restaurant below it, but it was nothing exciting. I ended up going over to Tekka Market instead.
Tiny rooms, good location
The Parc Sovereign Hotel clearly relies upon its location to possess any advantage over its other counterparts. Located behind Sim Lim Square/Lasalle and about a 15 minute walk to Bugis Junction, that's about as much positives that I can say about the hotel in itself.
The rooms are small, very very small. For example, if you don't place your luggage properly, you're gonna block your path to the doorway. The room is literally a bed, with a tiny border of space around it. I'd normally be okay with such a lack of space, granted a good location, but the asking price for the Hotel is definitely too much.
Therefore, unless you absolutely need to be within the Sim Lim Square area, avoid this hotel unless you don't mind the lack of space.
