Need firm upgrades
Robertson Quay looked fantastic from the outside, but in the inside it was really a different story. There were plenty of things that the hotel could really do better and I hoped they did since my visit 3 years back.
Firstly, when I went to the hotel, I did not bring the hardcopy of my booking with me. And for fantastic reasons, the staff could not process my check in without the slip. Fine, and I asked them if I could forward the email to them so that they could print for me. The answer was no as they could not do that, but I could use their in house PC to do that, and I would need to pay. I was aghast by that, but did not had much choice. Then when I wanted to print it out, it cannot be printed. Eventually, the staff just noted down a number from the copy on-screen to process my check in. Fainted.
After going through that, I opened the room and I was looking at a room with furnishings that probably had been there for the last 20 to 30 years. The rooms were small, smaller than budget hotels like V hotel. There were no toothbrushes available and I remembered going down to ask for it. I mean, isn’t this a 4 star hotel? Do they have to scrimp on such things for their guests?
Their online photos look much better now and I hoped there were real changes to the hotel.
