Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention

 

This weekend, be transported to a convention not so far away, where pop culture is celebrated with a East meets West vibe at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention! Held at Marina Bay Sands, this year’s affair is expected to be the biggest ever, drawing a crowd of 45,000 local and regional fans.

With 221 exhibitors, 119 product launches and a line up of 27 pop culture personalties, STGCC is set to spoil and enthral!

 

What to Expect at SGCC 2014

 

Here’s a sneak peek at the sights and sounds at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention this weekend.

 

1. Get Your Hands on the Latest Releases

Fans can look forward to the exclusive unveiling of the new Hot Toys Iron Man “Peacemaker (Mark XXXVI) collectible, and ogle at numerous other Hot Toys figurines.

2. Meet Living Legends

The interactive interviews with Marvel Comics Artist Humberto Ramos, Designer Matt “Sekure D” Fabris, artist Alex Solis, and popular cosplayer Lenneth XVII were a treat for the audience as they got to rock their skills in real time.

Ramos and Solis took to drawing Spiderman in their impressive signature styles. Sekure D exhibited and explained his unique process of painting sneakers, while Lenneth’s intricate, kakkoi (cool) costume and posing prowess took centre stage.

STGCC goers will also be bumping into other personalities like Andy Price, the artist for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and returning guests Simone Legno, tokidoki creator and comics artist, Harvey Tolibao. 

 

3. Meet Your Favourite Characters

Star Wars fans are in for a treat, with a life-sized Star Wars costume display, in collaboration with Action City.

Manga and Anime lovers can look forward to seeing Tomokazu Sugita, the seiyuu (voice actor) for Gintoki from Gintama and Kyon from Haruhi Suzumiya, and cosplayers Stayxxxx and Aliga. There was a spotlight on music and art, with a two-hour performance by DJs Inu, D.Watt. and sasakure.UK. The Artist Alley booths showcased various original artwork from over 160 participants in Asia and the UAE.

Head on down to MBS to escape from the humdrum of ‘normal life’, and soak in the adrenaline-pumped atmosphere of fun, freedom and fandom at STGCC 2014!
