Unless you’re a stay-at-home mom or dad, it’s highly likely that you see more of your colleagues than your kids. And while we can all agree that providing your child with a good future take priority over all else, being a full-time working mom or dad also means missing out on milestones and precious moments with your little love.

Before you let the guilt eat you up inside, there’s a chance for you to redeem yourself. From candle-making to robotics, these 5 parent-child holiday courses run by People’s Association at your neighbourhood Community Centre/Club (CC) will let you spend some well-deserved quality time with your kid and rekindle that parent-child bond.

1. Candle making with glass holder

Candle making is usually viewed as a more of a feminine activity, but even if you’re mom or dad to a rough and tough little dude, don’t strike it off the list just yet. This 1.5-hour natural soy wax candle making class by Soap Art Pte Ltd is both parts fun and educational.

Think of it as a science experiment. There’ll be the concocting of your own unique scent from a variety of essential oils, the firing up and melting of the wax, colouring, then customising your candle to make it truly your own.

At the end of it, you’ll be walking away with 2 beautiful glass candles full of the day’s memories you can gift to each other or use to simply light up the house.
