Another gem hidden in the CBD, Green Press offers not just pressed juices but also acai bowls, superfood salads and the occasional dessert. There is a diverse menu that constantly changes ranging from sesame nut milk, coffee donuts to raw zucchini pasta that have won the hearts of workers in that area. 

A crowd pleaser would be the Tahitian salad with sweet potato, pineapples, chilli, mint, dill and shaved coconut. Their chocolate superfood smoothie made from raw cacao, dates, cocoa, banana and coconut water is also hailed as one of the best smoothies in the area. Advocating fresh wholesome and nutritious living, Green Press is sure to have something anyone will like. This quaint little shop is tucked away in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Opened mid last year by Vivian Lam with the idea to get the daily intake of 5 servings of fruits and veggies in 1 delicious smoothie, this shop has won the hearts of many.

The small menu features 16 smoothies which all have quirky names such as Perfect Patch and Hale Kale. Don’t let weird ingredients like tofu scare you because their Muscle Matcha easily beats Starbucks’ Matcha Frappucino. Their Smooth Skin smoothie made with spinach, banana, mango, mint and almond milk is refreshing and gives your skin extra nutrients as a bonus. For something  more indulgent try Choc Mint or Peanut Butter Cup.

They taste so good its almost hard to believe its good for you.

This iconic Melbourne establishment doesn’t just serve up mouth-watering vegan dishes, but also a wide array of smoothies and juices. From a refreshing drink like Clean and Lean, made with watermelon, apple and cranberry to something more decadent like the Carob Booster made from banana, honey, carob and wheatgerm, there is something for everyone. If you are really looking to get your health on, try their kombucha or spirulina boost. Kombucha aka “Immortal Health Elixir” is a sweetened tea that has been fermented and is great for 

detoxing the body! They even have a bar filled with organic wine and gluten free beer.

Serving up nothing but nutrition on a plate, the nutrition bar caters to all sorts of food allergies ranging from dairy to gluten to raw food. Their acai and breakfast bowls are worth the trip alone. Full of antioxidants, acai bowl is made with acai berries, banana and coconut water and topped with more healthy goodness such as berries, cacao nibs, nuts and buckinis.

What’s unique is that they have a few variations to choose from so you can go all out and pick the green bowl, which has spinach and kale blended in, or go for a sweet treat with their peanut butter bowl. If you need a caffeine fix in the morning, liquid gold is right up your alley, made from chocolate almond milk, choc protein powder, coffee, avocado and agave. Housed in a former flower shop, Pressed Juice is Melbourne’s first pressed juice shop, offering tasty drinks with all the nutrients still intact. They have a wide variety of flavors and are constantly creating more combinations, but they have divided up their menu so it’s easy to narrow down your search. Green for someone looking for a health fix, Zest or Zing for the refreshing kick, Earth for something simple and Berry Glow for something a little sweet.

They also have more indulgent offerings of smoothies and Nut Mylks and recently started offering muesli and raw salads. If you are still tempted by everything on the menu, the lovely staff are more than willing to let you try a few samples! Try their green mylk if you want the best of both worlds!

Although this may be a franchise, they still maintain and advocate healthy living, using all whole fruits and vegetables in their products, none of that concentrate stuff. Their Slim Grin made of kale, spinach, celery and apple is the perfect refresher for any veggie lover, or try their protein shake if you are hoping to pack in some fuel for the gym. They also offer up a wide range of tantalising salads, yogurts or desserts.

For lunch, you can grab their tasty chicken dukkah salad, or for something lighter yet satisfying, try their quinoa kale salad. Their bircher muesli, made fresh daily, is one of the best around made with 100% natural yogurt and fresh apple juice. This newly opened healthy eating and juicing bar has taken Fitzroy North by storm, serving up tasty superfood treats that get the paleo and gluten free tick of approval. Meals are designed to be built to your preference: pick from a variety of bases including pea and pancetta ‘Cauli-Risotto’(a low carb delight), Mexican bean and corn salsa or crunchy Asian slaw and top it with a protein, dressing and crunch.

Their Liver Cleanse, made from orange, beetroot, lemon and turmeric, is designed to boost liver detoxification and improve overall liver function. Or try their top seller Gloriously Greener, made with kale, parsley, mango, banana and coconut milk or water. I advise you to get the milk version as it makes it so deliciously creamy and luscious. An affordable and convenient option for healthy organic foods and drinks, Fit Inn is definitely a must-visit.

Think nourishing healthy goodness such as spirulina, mesquite, camu camu and coconut flesh blended together with house made Nut Mylk, these power-packed smoothies could almost double as a meal.

My favourite pick has got to be the Shine On, made from coconut flesh, mango, banana, chia seeds, passionfruit, spinach, mesquite and probiotic powder. This refreshing smoothie is the perfect pick me up! Their iced coffee is one of the more unique ones, served up more like an affogato with organic coconut based ice cream. Or try their raw hot choc if the weather is colder.
