Way overpriced

I just dispensed the frozen yogurt the size of a McDonald’s ice cream with a few strawberries as toppings and it costs me nearly RM10. What a rip off! It tastes like normal yogurt, except that it is frozen and looks like ice-cream.

I could just buy some normal yogurt from the hypermart and put it in the freezer and mix with some fruit toppings; or I could just buy some ready-made fruit yogurts and put it in the freezer. I will not come here again except for some rare occasions (such as being treated).

Just an ice-cream

When Tutti Frutti was first introduced to Malaysian market, it was a huge hit. I still remember the long queue for your turn to get a cup of ice cream. Well, the thought of getting your own ice cream from the machine is kinda exciting at that time.

I like Tutti Frutti for no apparent reason. Maybe to join in the hype. However, the final price you see during checkout is horrible. Yes, it ain't cheap. Since the price is calculated based on weight, I suggest you to skip adding those unnecessary toppings into your cup. Plus, the ice cream tastes better without all those colourful toppings.

Tutti Frutti is basically just an ice cream. If you want to have fun and self service yourself in getting an ice cream, you can try them. But taste-wise, they're just ordinary. Nothing to boast about, really.

Too expensive

This is one of the first few frozen yogurt brands to stamp its mark in Malaysia. I first tried it in KL and was impressed at the novelty of choosing your own amount of yogurt and toppings. However, when it came to paying for it, I was in for a rude shock. Beware of the amount of yogurt and toppings you put in your cup because you pay by weight.

Ever since then, I've been more careful whenever I'm in Tutti Frutti. I also feel that one can get equally great tasting froyo elsewhere such as in Coffee Bean and J. Co outlets. To me, Coffee Bean has the best yogurts and they offer a choice of both sour and sweet froyo.

Totally Frutti!

Tutti Frutti is my favourite Frozen yoghurt store. Not only does it have varieties of flavours but it has really wonderful choices of toppings too!

I usually go for the Grape flavoured and also the original flavoured yoghurts as they really taste good! I'd top them with gummy bears, marshmallows, choc chips, jelly and even some sprinkles on top! Yumm, who wouldn't like a healthy doze of yoghurt? (although I know mine isn't very healthy with all those toppings!)

But it is a must try if you're craving for a dessert which is sour and sweet at the same time!

Buy now Cry later

There's a very creative concept applied by this company which attracts me. That is the ability to mix and make your own yogurt and you have the freedom to include any sort of topping you would like in it. I feel like a mad scientist making and mixing up a deadly concoction of colors and sugars and flavors. Makes me salivate just looking as I mix.

The real test comes when you go to pay for the creation or abomination you just made. Charges are based on the weight of the yogurt and they go by the gram. Sometimes it's just impossible to resist making the ultimate yogurt ,and have yourself brought back to reality by the price tag. Tutti Fruti is the constant battle for the "right balance" between price and how much yogurt you want.

Various flavour they had

Tutti Frutti is well known frozen yogurt and it has many branches throughout Malaysia. It do provide many flavour of frozen yogurt such as Chocolates, Mangoes, Vanilla, Strawberry and etc. However, the price of a single cup of frozen yogurt can be really high, if you are greedy enough, since they do measure the price in grams, RM0.50 per 10 grams if not mistaken. And it is self-service. You can take as many as you can but provided that you have to prepare enough pennies for that single cup of frozen yogurt. ;) By the way, I prefer to have J'Co frozen yogurt and the price is much more reasonable.

They weigh in grams

Yogurt is good as it helps us to digest better. However, I would rather get an ordinary yogurt cup from market. Tutti Frutti Yogurt is premium but tastes better than generic yogurt. You have to make your own yogurt, you can create patterns and arrangements that you like, add in toppings that you loved then just send it to the weighing station. You will then notice everything count as they weigh in grams! On average, I can reach RM15 with a medium cup. If you think that is OK, RM15 is only about 300grams of yogurt. So you be the judge.

Self-serve concept can be both good and bad.

Sometimes I will visit Tutti Frutti for their frozen yogurt, although I still think Moo Cow is much better.

It is an undeniable fact that Tutti Frutti offers greater varieties of yogurt flavors and toppings, unlike Moo Cow where only two seasonal flavors are available over a period of time. However, I think the self-serve concept has its pros and cons.

Good thing is, you can try as many flavor as you want at once by taking a little bit of each flavor. I guess you’ll most probably be surprised by the price when you weigh your cup. Since it’s self-service, most people don’t realize that every bit of weights counts when you are taking the yogurt, especially when it’s your first time. This is the bad part of it.

I was really shocked when my first cup of Tutti Frutti actually cost me about RM20. I can only blame myself for being too excited when using the yogurt machines for the first time.
