Attracted to pastries and baking goods?

I am someone who loves small cakes, macaroons and chocolate. Hence when I noticed this sign for the first time while strolling about, I immediately went in without a hitch. I ordered a chocolate drink as I was thirsty and found it to be extremely bitter as it was made of dark chocolate. It was to my liking and I was pleasantly surprised as most other establishments would not dare use bitter chocolate to make their drinks. I also decided to try their macaroons which were quite expensive considering their small sizes but they were very soft and fluffy, plus they were full of cream. Dining and drinking in there made my day for sure!

One of the Best Bakeries in KL

With a custom, imported stone oven and skilled bakers, Levain's breads are a refined art of taste and look. Of course, the price tag is a tad hefty, but for the price you'll get to savor top notch loaves.

However, when I visit Levain, I usually order their handmade pasta which is usually sold out by late afternoon. Do give the Wild Mushroom variation a try! As a Chocolate lover, I was rather surprised that if you order the chocolate drink, you won't find it warm and bittersweet- instead, it is quite bitter for my tastes. The soup, however, is the best soup I've drank in any restaurants- it's rich, creamy and thick.

That being said, the quality of the food is good, but the service isn't. The cashiers are usually impatient-looking, and scowl at you as you ponder about what to order. They aren't friendly and helpful at all. Speaking about the chocolate drink, when I was going to give it a second chance after the bitter taste previously, I asked them 'how would the choc taste like? Sweet? bitter?" and they actually answered back unpleasantly, "taste like choc la!" You get the idea.

And most importantly, when I let the valet there handle my car parking, I actually got slapped with an expensive fine weeks later!! Although I parked my car in the establishment, the jockeys must have moved my car to park at the roadside to make way for other cars- and I got a fine as a result.

Came here initially for macarons.

The main purpose of my first visit to this famous place was because of the macarons. To be honest, I had never heard of Levain before until I asked my friend where to get some good macarons.

I was indulged in the smell of freshly baked breads and pastries when I stepped into the cafe. It was quite surprising to know that they are also selling breads, pastries, and even chocolates. And they offer a wide variety of flavors for their macarons which makes them look so color through the display window.

Since it was my first time eating a macaron, I can only say that it’s quite sweet. Also, I think it’s very considerate of them to provide free self-service plain water with lemon in one corner. Besides macarons, I did tried their spaghetti and chocolate drink too. Not bad but not great.
