Great bus schedules, but inflated food and miscellaneous items!
I visited Larkin earlier this year to get a bus to head to Penang. I was delighted to see so many coach companies and had no trouble in booking a trip to Penang. While waiting for my bus, I had a couple of hours to kill and went to have my dinner with my 2 mates.
There was a food court at Larkin, where you get to self-serve yourself with Malay food. After sering ourselves and ordering drinks, I was shocked when the total bill came to RM93!! That amounts to about $40SGD, which is definitely inflated!!
After coughing up the money, we walked around are we confirmed that the entire Larkin Bus Terminal is indeed overpriced and suffers from a serious bout of economic inflation!
Typical bus terminal
I was very satisfied with the city bus schedule. They are many city bus available and most of the time they are punctual. There are many intercity express buses available to almost every peninsular cities. Just go the various counter and they will assist you. You should be beware of some irresponsible persons selling fake tickets even at the counters. The intercity express bus schedules are a little bit mess. Buying tickets at some of the counter sometimes really tested my patience. So most of the time I chose Transnasional or Maju Express. The facilities here are quite okay, the food court offers a lot of choices and the price range is affordable.
