Sweet and sour fish ,O-M-G
I had heard of this place many many times from my friends. The dining experience I had there was simply divine. I purposely called in a large group of friends to have dinner together because that is the best way to sample many different dishes together at the same time.
We ordered the crab cooked in chilli, sweet and sour fried fish, some spicy tofu and had a dish of small clams cooked in sambal. The winner of the evening was the sweet and sour fried fish. The fish was cooked to crispy perfection then a very spicy sweet and sour sauce was poured on to it and served to us immediately. Due to the quickness of the staff were to able to taste the fish's crispiness and still taste the sauce. The other dishes were all good too and I remember we all had a big debate as to which dish was the best.
Eventhough we all went home with different opinions on which dishes tasted best, we all agree that we are definitely coming back to this place over and over again.
Awesome!! Simply the best seafood dining experience I've had in ages!!
From the start, when you enter golden Thai, there are rows and rows of aquariums on either side of you, showcasing their crabs, prawns, fish, oysters, etc. Then, we were shown to a hut which was cosy and romantic and was situated just beside the shoreline!
Our order of black pepper crabs, oyster omelette, hot-plate tofu, fried seabass and chilli prawns all came in quick succession and every single dish tasted heavenly! The service staff were quick to attend to us and were friendly enough to stop and chat.
Overall, we paid less than 150RM for the entire meal, which I feel was very worth it. the next time I'm in Penang, I will definitely visit Golden Thai again!
