City Square is a shopping centre and office building located in the Central Business District of Johor Baru. Due in part to its proximity to the Causeway, City Square attracts many shoppers from neighboring Singapore. Consisting of five storeys of shopping malls including a Cathay Cineplex and numerous other eateries, City Square looks set to attract more shoppers from both sides of the Causeway.

Be careful if you come here, it is better if you come in groups. I once a saw a man with a bleeding nose as he was punched by a stranger. A friend of a friend was hit by a few strangers at City Square as well. Since this place is not safe, I could not walk freely on my own.
The non-branded clothes are quite expensive even though they are China goods of average quality which would typically cost RM25 per piece at Sutera Mall and KSL. I think this place is more targeted towards Singaporeans, thus the higher price.
Shopping paradise for singaporean
City square is one of the most popular shopping mall in Johor Bahru, and it is located next to the Customs Immigration and Quarantine of Malaysia. That was why lots of singaporean came to City square for shopping on every weekend. And it's always crowded indeed. Lots of branded stuff such as Mango, Leather Avenue, Cotton on are available there. Besides that, inner city is another specialty of city square. There are many stalls inside it selling clothes, foods, accesories and etc. You can grab lots of fashionable clothes with low price in inner city! Cathay Cineplex is available in City square too. It's a shopping paradise place for Johorean and Singaporean.
Great variety for casual shopping.
I usually pop by City Square whenever I'm in JB for the day. I find that it's a huge mall and has everything to offer a casual shopper like me, plus the prices are quite alright.
There is a Cathay Cineplex where I catch the latest movies, a Seoul Garden on the 2nd floor that I love going to and even a Popuar bookstore and a Guardian pharmacy! And when I'm in the mood for teatime, I head down to the J-Co Donut outlet on the 1st floor and stuff myself with some delicious warm doughnuts and a cool iced chocolate!
