Being a religious Buddhist, I was excited when my mum took me for a visit to the temple when I was a young boy. I remember her warning me in the car on the way over to the temple saying that I must respect everyone and everything there and must not make noise. I didn't pay much attention then until I came face to face with the giant Buddha statue in the main hall. It was a beautiful statue made out of gold and it shone grandiously in the sun light. It felt like Buddha himself had descended from the Heavens at that very moment.
I got scared and remained by my mother's side for the entire trip afterward. I occasionally pay visits to the temple now as an adult and the statue never lost its splendour. The temple groundskeepers were taking very good care of the statue and the temple grounds were clean and swept regularly. The temple is truly a must-see for locals and tourists alike.
