Penang Peranakan Mansion is a rebuilt building after 2nd World War, one of the Penang tourist attractions located in Queen Street, Georgetown. I typically like the Nyonya style being imposed by the owner of the mansion as the antiques (some reaching 100 years old) in the mansion were all chosen particularly from various sources while the owner is traveling, of course, some are available for sale too (This is what I heard from the guides.)
One thing to be mentioned is the entrance fee is RM10 per person (adult). It's advisable to visit in a group (like at least 5 persons per visit) as they will provide personal guide (FOC) to explain every single corner of the history in the mansion, which you can imagine the functions of each single design at the corner of a nyonya family once upon a time. For my past experience, no tour guide in the mansion, means no fun!
However, if you are going in 2 or 3 persons, you can actually go on Public Holidays or weekends, then you can find more tour groups around the mansion attached with a guide. All you can do is just attach yourself (this is what I did last time) into the group for further stories behind the mansion! All the tour guides are friendly enough and they are available in Chinese and English (so far I had encountered) languages.
Be noted that the upstairs are quite warm as there are no air-conditioner available.
