Located on the banks of the river which in yesteryear teemed with Chinese junks and spice-laden vessels from all over the world, The Majestic Malacca provides a glimpse into the splendid saga of an extraordinary empire. The original serene mansion, dating back to the 1920's, remains at the heart of the hotel, whilst a new building has been created, mirroring the original architecture, to house 54 spacious rooms and suites.

The design integrates old with new, modern with historic, ensuring that the total experience is one that is authentic, honouring the past while bringing every modern convenience to bear. From the original porcelain flooring, teakwood fittings, intricate artwork and antiques, to the finely crafted Nyonya cuisine, every aspect echoes the history of the region, and offers a beguiling journey through this enchanting heritage.

Simply stunning

The rooms are beautiful, spacious and relaxing. It has an old charm to it. The building itself portrays the majestic old colonial feeling to its guests, making you feel comfortable and at home once you stepped in.

The buffet breakfast is nice and filling. You'll get more variety when many guests are in town. Try weekend or public holidays. The food will always amaze you.

The staff are exceptional and super friendly. They are very attentive and will try their best to make your stay wonderful and special.

Get a river view room, it's really a nice sight.

The best food I've had

The hotel looked so beautiful, designed in a nice mix of historical architecture and modern day technology. It reminded me of Raffles Hotel in Singapore but more cosier and modern. Not to mention much cheaper!

The service was fantastic! It was my birthday so my BF told them and they prepared a cute elephant towel and arrangement in hearts. Was really happy when I saw it on the bed, I was so surprised. And when we came back later that night... Our room had a special ribbon around the door frame! And inside was a special birthday cake! Oh my god that really made our trip, the best service we had at a hotel in a long time.

We then had the best food ever the next day at breakfast. I was sorely disappointed initially as their "buffet breakfast" although a buffet, you still had to order your food through the menu and wait for it to come unlike other buffets which lay out all the food.

However, my mood quickly changed when the food arrived. Their homemade sambal which went with the Nasi Lemak was the best sambal I have eaten in my life. I even asked the chef for second helpings and he gladly obliged. Was hoping to find out when they got it from but of course it was impossible as it was a special home made recipe by the chef. In fact every dish was perfection and we ended up having 7 courses because it was so good. I feel so embarrassed writing about this now!

Only bad thing was the location, it was far from Jonker Street which is the best place in Malacca. And by far I mean a 20 mins walk haha!! And the pool was small too. Those are just minor stuff tho and I will definitely be back at this amazing hotel again!
