Great time with families and friends

I remember coming in here by tagging along a friend along with his family for some holiday relaxation. We had a stay at this apartment that seemed to remind me of Iris House Resort in Cameron Highlands. My food and and stay there was free as my friend's parents offered me to go which was really great as I was pretty sure if I had to pay, I would've had to work it off somehow.

The buffet breakfast is pretty standard but if you were to know me well, I usually go for cereals like Koko Krunch as I felt that it was better off as breakfast than all the other oily food. The rooms had this european feeling to it. The swimming pool was pretty clean and big enough for families to enjoy. Overall, a pleasant experience, especially since I didn't have to pay.

For families

Check-in in this hotel was very slow and inefficient. Staffs are not attentive and took a long time to handle the front desk.

Rooms are in dire state. Furniture are old and dated, and the rooms need major refurbishments to maintain its standard.

Buffet breakfast is adequate and pretty decent. Nothing much really but they're not that bad either. However, the staffs here are exceptional and very helpful.

Location of this hotel is quite far from Melaka town. The cowboy parade is boring. Theme park is okay for kids. However, the animals are looking so sick it's not a pretty sight for children.

Do stay here if you get a good deal because A Famosa is pretty expensive for nothing.

Family leisure destination

I went there for company’s training. Food and accommodation were provided by the company. We stayed in the condotel. It was an apartment style of hotel with 3 rooms. It was clean and beautiful. But when I called for Wifi, it was chargeable at RM 30 per day. Why couldn’t it be complimentary to those who stay there? I think A'Famosa Resort is a perfect destination for children and families. A yellow trolley bus is available on hire at an affordable price to take us around the resort, which is impossible to explore on foot. The Carnival Show at Cowboy Town is one not to be missed. Live fireworks show of about 15 minutes happens every night. There were exciting animal parades, borneo fire eater stunts show and beautifully decorated carnival carriages going down the aisles.

Affordable resort

I really enjoyed my stay there as the rooms are apartment style. I felt at home immediately especially since everything looked quite new and clean. I don't exactly remember the price but I think it was quite affordable. However, the resort is quite a long drive from the Melaka town. It's probably not that long but from the resort to the town, there's nothing to see but trees which gave me the impression that it was a long drive. Nevertheless, it's fun to stay there and I recommend big families to stay here.

Fun but don't expect 5 star standards

A'Famosa has long passed its glory days but it certainly is not dead.

What I liked during my stay there was that our bungalow had a swimming pool. The rooms were spacious and clean as well. It's good for big groups.

The first place me and my friends went were the Water Park with the usual slides and huge wave pool. However for those who dare, please try the tower slide, which I'm not too sure about the height but at the top I could see the North-South Highway.

There's also the safari where there are animal shows like the Wild West show, Elephant show, Birds show and little animals performing tricks. I find all the shows really interesting and not to be missed.

The highlight would be the Cowboy Town which opens at night, the performance from the fire dancers were spectacular and it ends with the animal parade and finally fireworks.

Must go in Melaka

I like the Water World in A Famosa. There are lots of high rise buildings that you must climb to play, it's tiring but exciting!! I did enjoy a lot playing with my freinds especially the human-made waves area. Then, the villas there are awesome! There is a swimming pool outside every villa, which means, I can play water again! The villa is so nice equipped and I just enjoy there like a queen, what a nice experience in A Famosa!
